Mansell could well be suspended soon. it's clear Wakefield is just a stop-gap so let's get someone else in to make sure we've got every chance of getting over the line ! We have got options within our squad should that happen. Move Monkhouse into the middle and play Gosling wide left. Russ, I agree with you about most things, but Monkhouse (lots of experience of course) just doesn't have that drive/engine in midfield like Sinclair - I think that's what we really need to push teams back more. Gosling on the left - would suit him more, but personally would love to see Balanta get a run of games there. I know supporters say "when it ain't broke don't change it " but we have to make sure we get as many wins as possible in those last 9 games (soon a 1 nil could end up a 1-1 ) cos I can't see Barnet crumbling myself. As an example Norwich, were just off the play-offs but still changed manager and brought in new players like Dorrans from WBA and now they're flying. I would like us to get an experienced but energetic/attacking L2 midfielder to partner Mansell, play Dawson on the wing, and give Balanta a chance to play more - especially in home games (monkhouse is a very safe pair of hands but doesn't give us much intensity down the left) even if it's off the bench early in second half.

I spoke to Higgs after the Gateshead match and he said we were looking to bring in another central midfielder even before this latest injury to Sinclair.
Clarke has been looking for another midfielder for the past couple of weeks and has 2 or 3 potential targets.
Wakefield has or will be returning to Bournemouth.
Higgs is well aware that we are in a title race and wants us to have the strongest squad possible going into the run in.
Whether Sinclair's injury means we will now be looking for 2 players I'm not sure.

Good afternoon, pull up a chair and sit down, you're making the place look untidy.
Right, where to start?
Ok, Darrell you were my team leader at Gateshead, a good three points in the bag, gotta be happy with that and the efforts from everyone. Good work - with the only downside being similar to a Croatian prostitute preparing herself for a client by having a shower - we returned with no beard.
I listened to your interview Darrell Two L's and happy with most of it, but i need to discuss your use of the phrase "It's not all about being pretty" . Ha Ha - No sh1t sherlock if we played our football in a sandpit the sodding cats would cover us over. But i'm not complaining young man, far from it, afterall you're talking with the man who convinced people to stick bleedin dustbin lids on the sides of their houses just to watch premium tv, i never did say they looked pretty but bloody hell i made a sh1t load of money out of them. You keep going lad as long as we get out of this Division i couldn't give a rodents rectum juice.
Very bloody happy to see our very own super sub Mr Ellis Harrison scoring the winner yet again, the lad looks as laid back as anyone, i think those bluetooth ear pieces we let him have to listen to his tunes is having a calming effect and he sure knows where the goal is. I'd also like give a special mention to our boy Matthew Taylor, you have been bleedin superb in my opinion my boy, and seeing as you are not enjoying your best performances the last two gamess i think you have been bleedin exemplary, some very important goals and a work rate rarely seen in a forward, top that off with the fact you've had more stick than a regularly walked Labrador in Snuff Mills and i think your a bloody superb little player. Hoping we can take the funnel off the training goals soon the way you're going, keep it up lad.
Well, Top of the table again and with no mid-week fixtures to topple us we can bloody enjoy the next few days, so please don't spoil it digging up some cr@p just because you haven't got much to discuss eh. Lets enjoy the moment, long way to go and more sodding twists and turns than a pack of Bavarian Pretzels but we're on track.
Well done everyone, see you at the next task. Enjoy your week.
Now get up and get out.

Personally although I too would like Balanta to be given the chance the results we have obtained speak for themselves and we just seem to be able to beat whoever we play and by that I mean that when we beat the "lesser" teams we seem to think that although we have generally outplayed them we are unlikely to beat say Grimsby away. We then go there and do exactly the same to them as we did to Braintree or Altrincham. I don't however agree that because Monkhouse is not energetic or have the engine to run everywhere it does NOT mean he can't do a good job in there and the same goes for Balanta. These two players both have qualities that Sinclair does not have and that is in terms of creativity and the ability to pass a ball and even more important, a football brain. I think Sinclair is a good player but at the end of the day there is a reason why he has not made it to the League (yet) and there is a reason why both Monkhouse and Balanta have. I work on the basis that a League player should be capable of giving a good account of themselves in a variety of positions playing at Conference level. I do feel that we do need to go out and get in a midfield player (or two) if we are to push to the end.
