Evening all. Great idea from Cantankerous, seems popular and if we actually won would be amazing, especially if we leave the shirts blank! Ok, the money issue may not be as bad as you imagine: We wanted to Sponsor another game this season, but due to Rovers form/results they actually sold out all packages a while ago, i could have booked one, but in many ways that's not the point of The FFS, if there are other sponsors out there willing to spend we should let them and save our money for another day.......in this case , the chance of 1883 Sponsorship!! I believe we have around £500 in the kitty (Parrot please confirm young man) that will leave us needing £700. Well, if you look at our "GASBILL" thread (Hugo, please do the honours and put it in Gasworks if you would be so kind sir) we have rather a tidy sum coming in at the end of the season - if everyone pays up that is Right, what we need are a few New Members, so get Promoting the idea. Seeing as i haven't done a Gasbill yet i'll chuck in a £1 for every new member from now til seasons end ok. If we want it, we can do it...Keep the thoughts coming though. UTG Leaving the shirts blank is a great idea, and it would probably bring more interest to FFS than putting FFS on the shirt (ie everyone would want to know why they were blank)Is there a method whereby we should pay for this directly, or should we just pay another tenner to the FFS? Or something else? Exactly my thoughts too Antonio. We will look for new members. The FFS will never have any different levels of membership to keep it affordable to all, but since the start we have always encouraged others to donate more if they so wish. We're gonna need RichHertford's opinion on all this...Blank shirts could end up being Ground Breaking!!!!! What's our chances Rich?

Blank shirts would be brilliant. I agree with AF that blank home shirts would generate massive publicity and I recon it would increase sales too.
Id chuck in an extra tenner.

Blank shirts would be an amazing statement. I'd be happy to join in with this. The blue & white quarters without a sponsor in the way would look good I think, but I'm not quite up to speed with how it would be an ''amazing statement'' or why others above seem to be so enthusiastic about it. I'm not criticising at all... I just don't understand. Could some please explain to me, what would be so good about it? UTG!

Not having a sponsor on the shirt is very very unusual and would surely raise publicity for the FFSC with people who don't know about us asking where the sponsor logo is. As a group the FFSC has raised 1000s for the club so far and is entirely a fans run independent group. I believe if more people knew about us, more would join meaning more money for the club. Oh, and having just quaters without a logo on would just look chuffin cool.

Several seasons ago I was seriously tempted by this 'club' as I had some money and also had an innovative idea for how to use the 10 hospitality places that every entrant gets. In the end the VAT made the difference to me deciding not to do it.It may sound silly but the extra £200 made it unaffordable, especially when that £200 doesn;t go to the club.
if fans / the Sponsors club could somehow financially afford this I think it would be a decent way to support the club. the 10 hospitality places & signed football could obviously be a guaranteed prize draw, even if nothing else is 'won' (let's be honest, the odds are against us).

Well, personally i think, apart from a strip just looking much better without a sponsor's logo, it also feels like the shirt, which is one of the most significant symbols of the club, is debased to an extent by hiring it out to commercial interests. That might be a bit of a romantic view, but I think there's an element of that. If you need an analogy, fans get really upset about other symbols of their club being debased (eg, the Hull City name, and the Cardiff City shirt colour). Some business having their name on your shirt is only a few steps down from that, imo; it's just much more accepted, coz it's much more common. Or maybe that's just my view, or the view of people who grew up before shirt sponsorship.

Count me in too. Like the idea of an advert free shirt but would quite like to see a small ffs logo on some part of it.

To get extra money for the ffsc or for anyone who wants to put a tenner towards the draw just sign up for the ffsc in memory of someone or on behalf of a son or daughter and you get an extra chance in any draws ffsc does and sorry Jon but you get to put a extra pound in aswell . I will join again in memory of my dad (GILLYGASHEAD) UTG
