No problem with them either. They seem to have built up a dislike of us, and some are planning to gloat to Grimsby and ourselves if they win the league, but they won't get that from me if we beat them to it. Yep, sadly all fanbases have a group who are more interested in rubbing opponents noses in it than celebrating their own achievements. There is no dislike between Barnet and Bristol fans that I'm aware of, just a few who need to turn sporting opponents into the enemy. Whoever wins will have earned it and whoever comes second has had a fantastic season with the playoffs to look forwards to. Makes a refreshing change from relegation scraps don't it Doesnt it just! I personally think (and hope) we will be playing you again next season! I've always looked forward to my trips to Underhill and was quite impressed with the new set up at the Hive (apart from the fact that you gave us a right mauling!).

Probably won't happen again until we're both battling each other to stay in the fourth tier. It does make me smile when a team scores and you see everyone's celebrating, except for two or three who seem more interested in taunting the opposing fans. It makes me wonder whether they can actually enjoy anything that doesn't involve belittling others.

Mauling being the operative word, particularly in relation to the elbow mauling that Akinde gave Tom Lockyer and is the reason Tom wears a gumshield to this day. Such a shame that we were still in the shock of relegation for the first seven games of the season.

Schadenfreude is an inherent part of the human condition. Aren't they in the Bundesleague? You're thinking of Doberman Pinscher.

Schadenfreude is an inherent part of the human condition. Aren't they in the Bundesleague? No they got demoted to Regionalliga Südwest because everyone got fed up of them having a laugh at the expense of others.

Have to say it is quite impressive when they sing their one song wishing their sweetheart good night - probably the loudest I have ever heard any group of fans at Wembley.
Decent comment by Hiveoccupier on the Barnet Forum. Fair play ⛽️

Gonna be funny when Martin leaves them at the first opportunity next season, probably taking Akinde with him.

Nah. If they truly believe they've won it it wouldn't all be about us would it. They'd be celebrating their own success. I reckon they're sh**ting their pants.

I am quite happy to go on record to say that I want the play-off winner to be whoever finishes 2nd.
If that is us, then fine. If it is Barnet, also fine.
I won't wish that, say, Woking beat barnet in the play-offs just because a few immature Dam loudmouths on a forum have wound me up.
Call me old skool, but the play-offs are deeply unfair after battling for 8 months, over 46 games, so I'm very happy for the team in the highest play-off position to get promotion, in any league.

I disagree I feel they keep the season going to virtually the death, even in our division it's still not clear who'll make the Play Offs, if there was no Play offs there'd only really be Barnet & us with anything left to play for as it is FGR, Macc, Eastleigh & Woking all still have something to play for. The Play offs themselves are also interesting to watch particularly if your own team is succesful in them!!

The play offs are unfair, but as Toppergas said, they keep the league open for a lot of teams right up to the last minute so for that reason, I am in favour. Also, they have benifitted us once and never (yet) disadvantaged us.

I doubt anyone can argue against that, especially after 8 months and 46 games, in all weathers, on all pitches, home and away, with varying kick-off times and days, with suspensions, injuries, fixture pile-ups, fixture drought, cup distractions, etc. That is what a league truly reveals.
