Fickle is the word you're looking for. I thought the same. But we will see. If this is about my post i have been pretty consistent in what i have said about DC since christmas prior to quitting forums and on twitter. I felt it only fair to apologise to him on the same format i criticised him. The guy has turned things around, its clear for all to see. So here we are currenltly playing in a league lower than when he took charge, and you say he has turned things around. Really cant work that one out.

Good post Dins. I don't consider it at all "fickle", as I remember you being quite dogmatic in your opinions of DC at the start of the season, and it takes a big character to be able to admit that their initial assessment was wrong.
I appreciated your live Tweets from the Q&A session, and hope that you will post on here as and when it feels right for you. Congratulations on the new arrival - years of happiness ahead for you on that front!

Only back part time as felt it important for me to post this as a matter of principle. :-) Did not want to post it after we won the league and may not have had the will power if we didn't go up. i liked this post but it confuses me a little. you talk passionately and openly about matters of principle and you clearly seem to therefore be a person with principles... BUT the reason I liked DC from the start was exactly because he was a man of principle. He didn't f**k about with players, he didn;t lie, massage egos, take his eye off the ball (unlike JW and the board), pay stupid money to players, take players who weren't committed to us, let players get overweight and underfit. He's a pretty open book (too open at times maybe) and doesn't suffer fools gladly. He has done just about everything our club needed, and wiped away a lot of the sh** that was allowed to fester for far too long. Which is why it confuses me as too why a man of principle didn't appeal to you.

Great post Dins and welcome back into the fold. Congratulations on the birth of your son, may he become a lifetime Gashead. Now its TBone's turn to apologise after calling DC the clueless one, we are waiting.... Listen, the bloke took us down, you know. And for that I will never forgive him, youknow. Listen, he has done nothing as of yet to make me change my mind, you know. Even if he you know, achiieves promotion, I will still have reservations about the man for taking us into this hell hole of a division. I have consistently called him clueless because of his tactics and team selections. We should be walking this league, but because of his love in for a certain player,we aren't.You know.
Listen, I stand by my words.Ididnt want him as manager last season. And I still don't want him now.You know.
So good old Johnny Ward playing the wooden Harrold up front on his own for most of the 38 games he was in charge takes none of the blame? And the fact the DC was appointed AFTER the transfer window closed had no bearing on it? Lets face it we had a bunch of useless tossers in our squad last season, I don't suppose they come in t it at all. Well not in your head anyway.

Another pathetic post. We were in free fall long before Ward jumped ship. Clarke has transformed this club on a smaller budget than any of our recent previous managers and built a squad we can be proud of. Anyone who's supported us over the last few years and understands football can see that. You are a joke.

Moaned militantly when he was appointed as assistant manager and again when appointed manager and again again when not replaced pre season. Never rated him, never believed in him and never trusted him. Just wanted to say prior to the season ending so that this is taken as genuine rather then as an emotional spasm that he has done a fantastic job under awful pressure And tough circumstances. He is a young manager who seems to have totally grasped what we are about as a club and has built a squad and an ethos we can all be proud of. During a 24 hours of smug Shithead nonsense from the fans of Bristol Sport i wanted to thank DC for giving me some pride back in my football team. I also wanted to apologise for not believing in you and being so angry with you. I recently became a dad for the first time of a young boy and i hope DCs efforts can go some way to ensuring my son has a Local club to support in the future. All the best to everyone for the last two games, the support has been unreal. Good for you mate. What a top man. Couldn't love this post more.

We werent in a relegation position when he took over. Ward second spell in charge was a huge disappointment though. I will agree.

Which is why it confuses me as too why a man of principle didn't appeal to you. Hi, Mehew, to try and explain where my head was at on DC my views on DC stemmed from how he was recruited. JW promised an experienced league manager as assistant, couldnt recruit anyone and rang DC to arrange a pre season friendly with Salisbury and somehow ended up hiring him. I watched all 8 of our games DC managed tail end of the season and he chopped and changed so much i felt he was out of his depth. That was followed by a really slow statt to getting a team together which i now in hindsight realise was not all down to him and was not all a bad thing. He carefully put things together. DC built an excellent side for this level and has shown he is a good man manager too. Last season was the worst in our history and left a lot of resentmenr. To rescue something from the ashes of that is fantastic.

Dins, we have had our disagreements on all mediums however I applaud you for this explanation on your thinking. Please stick around on here!
Tbone, as expected your rhetoric is unchanged.
What ever happens between now and the end of May this has been a good season in the main, the streamlining of the squad and team spirit built by DC is phenomenal. We need to remain positive as supporters and roar them on to the last minute of the last game.
Come on you BLUES

John Ward is not our worst manager in our history and have some respect please your last comment is just un-called for.

OK - here's where I stand:
First of all I have always supported whatever manager we have at any time - apart from Paul Buckle, I don't think we have had any manager who didn't give his best for the club. Whwther that was good enough or not is a different issue.
Secondly, John ward obviously got things badly wrong last season, but don't foget he probably saved us from relegation the previous season.
Thirdly, regardless of tbone and KingswoodGas comments, Darrell has been a breath of fresh air, built the current team on a shoestring and got us into a position where we have a real chance of promotion at the first attempt - I honestly expected it to be 2 or 3 seasons before we reached this position.
Following Bristol Rovers is about being supportive not critical, we know we don;t have a sugar daddy like '82 and we need to keep being encouraging of all aspects, especially now.
