I'm sure you will if your a proper Gashead. There'll be over 11000 Gasheads in the cheering the boys on and if it doesn't happen for us then they'll be the same again for the play offs. If I'm a 'proper' Gashead? I wish I wasnt a 'proper' Gashead right now. Maybe I wouldn't care as much then and wouldn't feel so deflated. It'll make you more determined than ever by next Saturday I reckon.

Unfortunately though it's like to make no bit of difference whatsoever whether we win 1,000 - 0 or lose 1,000 - 0. With 2 minutes to play, it was in our hands; and we threw it away. Barnet will win next Saturday, mark my words - so it makes no difference whatsoever what we do. Your wrong there it does matter because we need to keep playing well and keep morale up for the play offs if what you say happens. If the mems quiet and defeatist on Saturday then where does that leave the players ? Don't get me wrong mate, I've nothing but total admiration for you or anyone else trying to remain positive now. But for tonight (at the very least), there is nothing that is going to pull me out of my bottomless pit of misery. I can't remember the last time I felt this low as a Gashead; for me it's even worse than relegation last season. We were two minutes away from it being in our hands (and lets be honest, we'd have gone on to do it). I am sick as a pig.

I'm as gutted as the rest of you, but I'll be down the mem next Saturday singing my heart out and giving the lads my backing! We have to give them our best support in the extremely unfortunate event that Gateshead get something!

All the pressure will be on Barnet, I'm not giving up yet. Nobody expected Kidderminster to get anything today, not over yet! UTG

Absolutely fecking devastated, when that goal went in I couldn't believe it.
2 minutes to hold on and this drive home would've been so so different, honestly can't see Barnet dropping points again next week, that was our chance.
Gutted!

This is where we expected to be this evening, Barnet had a very winnable game, a late goal would have seen them promoted today. UTG

Come on Lord Sugar - some of these guys need a proper pep talk.

Gutted! There's always howls of anguish when a late goal is conceded, as if it's unfair or a disaster or unnatural. In fact there are a lot more goals scored in the final five minutes of a game than any other five minute spell. If you want the stats, look at a website. It's true. So our 88th minute shocker today should not have come as a shock at all. Late goals are normal. The trick is to score one or two goals earlier in the game so the late ones conceded don't matter. But we don't often seem to get going until the second half.

It's suggesting that you don't want to enter the final 5 minutes of a vital game holding only a 1-0 lead. If we got going from the 1st minute instead of the 45th then we would have less to do.

The problem with next week's game is if Barnet go in front the Men will turn into a morgue whereas it could have been one of the best places to be for many a season, possibly any season in living memory?

Or if we go ahead, or Barnet concede, the atmosphere will be buoyant. Be positive and if we don't succeed next week, we still are the top rated side going into the play-offs.

Mildenhall should be recalled in the hope that he should be the least likely to make mistakes due to his vast experience. Puddy has had very little to do in recent games but has made a glaring error against Chester which did not prove costly and again today which proved very costly. Time for Mildenhall to get a game under his belt before the possibility of the playoffs. My hunch is that he will be more likely to step up to the plate than Puddy. It has been disappointing that Leadbitter has been left to stagnate on the bench after being our most improved Player (with pace). Time to start him and hope he has not gone off the boil.

Mildenhall was dropped after two similar howlers against Eastleigh & Halifax and for generally being poor unless he's back to his old self in training whose to say he'd do any better than Puddy?
Not sure Leadbitter would have helped stop Puddy giving a soft goal away today, although right wing is now a problem w/o Dawson.

I find it unbelievable how so many have suddenly deserted ship, after reading this thread. At the start of this season I would have been delighted to be in the play offs and automatic promotion was something I thought was not possible. However we have had a great season by our recent standards, albeit in a league none of us knew anything about and as far as I am concerned now is not the time to throw the towel in. We know we are in the play offs, automatic is still possible and we all know what needs to happen for that to occur. As regards the play offs, previous results do not count, so I for one am not writing us off against FGR, Eastleigh etc even if we slip up against Alfreton. If automatic does not happen I look forward to a trip to Wembley and a victory as sweet as our last visit there! UTG!!!!
