So why post it in Rovers talk when it has nothing to do with Rovers? Yes, I would like DC to say and believe in things like that, but we haven't seen it consistently - we have the players don't you think ? I take your point Mark and, in answer to your question, yes I'd have liked to have seen more free-flowing football than we have as we look a very decent side when we get the ball down. However... DCs tactics have got us to within a point of the title with one game left to go. If you're honest, I'm sure that is more than you (and many others) ever dreamt of in terms of what your actual expectations were. Therefore, I don't think we can really complain too much about the style of football if it's getting results - and so far this season it has picked us up a total of 88 points and it will be 91 if we beat Alfreton in two days time (which we should). Regardless of what league we were in, when was the last time any Rovers side got over 90 points in a season? 1990 when we had 93 points; and christ knows how long it was before that. So I don't think we're in a position to be too picky!

With respect mark, it is very clear why you posted this thread and that is in the hope of getting a few digs in on Clarke for his style of play as you see it.
With that in mind might I suggest you don't throw your toys out of the pram when things go the other way?
Also, just wanted to say how refreshing it is to see pretty much everyone in here see that for exactly what it was and not jump on the bandwagon. Not so long ago back on the old forum that thread would have attracted the usual suspects and this thread would have turned into a depressing slanging match essentially against our own club.
We are days away from our biggest game in many years (from a positive POV) and still there are 1 or 2 who seem to want to stir the pot. As I say, I am just thankful we seem slightly more resistant to this sort of thing these days.

Mark's Mum has just called me to say he came home early from school today, and he was very upset indeed.
You know we don't like being nasty to each other in Class 5, but it seems some people just have to be naughty.
And yes, Hugo, I can hear you and I no, I don't care who started it first. Now sit down.
When Mark comes back tomorrow I want everyone to say sorry to him. Yes, even you, Antonio.
Now off you go.

Allen said a few weeks ago that as results were not as good they had gone direct.

FFS. Talk about hitting a low, what the fecks the matter with you lot. Mark made a thread and i think he's a very good supporter and extremely knowledgeable. I thought this was an open forum for all. Sad

Well Allen's the words since the turn of the year haven't worked, as we've closed a 9pt gap to just 1pt, which could have been even better but for a weak ref.
Apart from the usual anti NH/DC rhetoric from the OP I'm not sure what his point is? Or would he sooner DC giving us little sound bites but with no chance of winning promotion?

Sad he did it to get a rise to push his own agenda mate. I'm not saying he shouldn't be allowed to do that. I'm just saying that's what he did.

Interesting. what is his "agenda" in your opinion and why does it make him a Troll? Cheers he's been pushing the anti board rhetoric for some time. I'm not being funny but you're asking me about the agenda of a bloke who publicly set up a protest group against the board, went on tv and everything. Id say thats pretty clear mate. Threads like this are there to get a rise out of ppl pure and simple. Again, not saying that's wrong but just saying that's what it looks like to me. I could be mistaken of course...

It never ceases to amaze me how we can be 2nd in the league with a great squad, and yet some still people heavily criticise some of the key contributors to our success with little to no grounds for complaint. Week after week they get proved wrong and yet they still persist.Taylor an DC being prime targets.

If we can't debate/question managers, boards, players it would appear pretty pointless, we're all different and have varying views. BTW Mark C was part of an action group not protest group and he was one of 3 as i seem to remember. that attracted over 150 people during close season. many of which are probably members on here. Cut some slack guys.

I'm pretty sure Mark was the one calling for moderators to delete posts and lock threads when there was a difference of opinion on the Southport match thread the other week soooooo ...

I just ignore anything anyone says *if* I don't think they'd say it on the pitch to Nick at half-time in the next home match with 11000 Gasheads (in person) listening and watching them.

Cut some slack guys. i have no problem with him having an opinion I don't recall mentioning this in my post. My point is some people stick to their opinions even when evidence is whole heartedly stacked against them at present. Let's play a game, I'm gonna make two statements and yes they are exaggerated, but the idea of this is to show you what I'm getting at. Imagine we go back a few years when Ronaldo is bangin em in for United and I come on to a forum and say. 1. Ronaldo is a useless waster. 2. Alex Furguson is Clueless. And I bang that drum throughout the season....it's my opinion.
