Very disappointing we've got a non-league Ref. The officiating is sooooo unbelievably poor at this level, you could genuinely miss out on promotion with one of the most laughable decisions ever made. You'd have thought that for a match at Wembley, they'd have had a decent standard of official. Top refs cost money. you'd need at least 50,000 fans paying £40-45 a ticket for something like that!

The referee will be Ross Joyce He has been in charge of us twice before this season:- A – Altrincham 1-2 Bookings – Parkes, Brunt, Taylor M A – Wrexham 0-0 Bookings – Blissett, Taylor M
Bloody hell, how did they manage to find a ref who hasn't seen us win this season! Oh, well, looks like mateeee taylor is getting booked then.

Wasn't The Beard sent off at Altringham? Yes! Apparently, Joyce has finished top of the non-league referee's rankings. I suppose htis is from assessor's marks from each game. I'm afraid that I didn't go to either Wrexham or Altrincham away, so I can't comment on the guy. Our friends at Grimsby don't seem too chuffed with him, but they've won one and drawn one in the games he has officiated - with not many cards.

Mildy went off injured and Puddy wasn't on the bench Oh yeah, I remember now! Yes - Mildy was injured and Joyce actually helped us out by reducing Wrexham to ten men! As Sean points out elsewhere in this thread he has sent off a Rovers player this season though...Sinclair at Alty - however, I recall that was a pretty straightforward decision we could have no gripes about. Still, that means he is averaging one sending off per Gas game officiated so it might be worth putting a few bob on a red card in the final.

Wasn't The Beard sent off at Altringham? You are correct, he was sent off in the 90th minute.

He's a bloody awful ref.
He's had some absolute shockers during our 5 years in this league.
Hope he doesn't ruin the game.

You'd have thought that for a match at Wembley, they'd have had a decent standard of official. We've already missed out on automatic promotion as a result of a dubious refereeing decision...A stronger, more competent ref would probably have given a foul on Puddy, which led to Dover's goal and we would have ended up with one more point than Barnet.
Generally the standard of refereeing this season has been shocking and I can't see why the bods at the Conference HQ couldn't have secured the services of one of the better refs for such an important game.

To be fair that foul on Puddy was dubious, could have been given either way. We were poor in that game.

You watch the 2nd Champions League Semi-Final tonight. Anyone going near the keeper from a cross and the ref will blow up in favour of the keeper...not saying its right, but that's the way it is.
Conference Officials have been consistently poor all season.

Yeah, if you're not sure then you can't really give it I guess. I have seen a lot worse this season, unfortunately. The worst ones for me are when they give something that wasn't there.

In the first leg of the semi the ref gave two fouls against us when there wasn't even a rovers player there. Players from both sides just looked at him like eh ?

Why can't we have a higher standard of referee I agree, i have always said that wembley should have it's own set of refs who are at the top of their game.
