Can't wait to see how fgw manage the boarding of coach to Swindon connection on Sunday morning given we have paid for specific train from parkway leaving 8 am - translates as we will get there at 7 am as they will no doubt be as professional as vanarama /see tickets - - - -

Just to be clear, there are not just delays, there are NO trains from Parkway to London on Sunday. You need to use Temple Meads and even that will be delayed by 30mins due to a diversion....
Bristol Rovers have been contacted by First Great Western Trains who wish to advise supporters about delays on the line between Bristol Parkway and London Paddington.
“On the forthcoming weekend our services are affected by some engineering works which will have an impact on fans wishing to travel to Wembley on Sunday 17th.
"Our colleagues at Network Rail are undertaking work between Swindon and Bristol Parkway, and Swindon and Chippenham which has an impact on routes from both of the major Bristol stations to London.
"Services from Bristol Temple Meads will be diverted between Bath and Reading and journey times are extending by up to 30 mins, fans are advised to check their times carefully before that travel, especially where they plan to use connecting services.
"The most important message that we have for your fans is that there are no rail services from Bristol Parkway to London. Bristol Parkway is likely to be the first choice station for your fans but our advice is to use Bristol Temple Meads.
"A limited rail replacement bus service will operate from Parkway to Swindon for onward connecting trains to London, but this is much slower than the service via Temple Meads and services are likely to be much busier due to the limited capacity available.

We're going from Temple Meads...... I am not looking forward to the nightmare.... We are also going from TM and I'm not looking forward to the chaos, I've pre booked my tickets and was going to get them out of the machine Sunday morning but have decided to go get them this afternoon instead, just to be on the safe side. I think we're also getting down there about an hour before our train leaves just in case of big queues.

I was told today they have gone and banned alcohol on ALL the coaches from Bristol to London. Random spot checks and that. Who will drink all the rum now?

A lucky omen me thinks. Take in the glory of Freshford weir, the Avoncliff Aquaduct, Bradford Tithe Barn, the Westbury White Horse, and the Trowbridge strangler. Got diverted that way once when someone in Swindon committed suicide in front of our mainline train. Swindon does that to you.
