According to the latest club accounts, we have spent over £940,000 in the last few years on legal fees etc re the new stadium. Currently we have total debt including the Wonga loan of approx £6.5 million pounds. This is offset against a stadium valued at approx £12-£15m. Therefore our assets still outweigh our liabilities. Still bloody frightening though. Thanks for that Incider. Problem being if we dont get UWE and sell the mem we have to stay so in effect are still around 7 million in debt (and rising) and in a stadia in desperate need of renovation

If Angie & Baggie get contracts I will be amazed. If DC keeps all the senior players from last season is there room for the ' 5 quality signings' he was talking about?

I can't imagine that some of those players have been offered brilliant contracts, Trotman's for example would surely just be month-to-month to prove his fitness.
If all of them signed, we'd have 19 senior players. So a 24-man squad with 5 signings is hardly excessive, but it does make you wonder if there would be any room for loans etc. on top of that a la this season.
Personally, would have let a few go (Trotman, Baggie and Balanta) but it's down to DC for a reason!

Interesting if the post story is truthful, wonder how long they have to think, as the wage side would be no different from last year in terms of minimum, to me if they want to stay they will sign within a day or so, not suprised the beard signed, as i can imagine at the end of his offer from darell he said whereas the pen ,if a pen was not available he would have signed in blood. . For me it's a no brainer you either want to stay or you dont, but i suspect the bloodsuckers are saying oh hang on lets see if theres interest from elsewhere.
Now it's out there hope people can understand why darell has remained tight lipped

Say you're not guaranteed to be starting v often and offered a low wage. OK you will want more but until you are offered something at another club then you aren't going to just turn it down are you?

I don't think any of the players offered deals are irreplaceable and if they aren't happy with what's on the table then I won't lose any sleep if they go.

Your average Conference/ L2 footballer won't hang around in signing a new contract!! If they don't sign now, in the hope of getting a better offer elsewhere, then the original offer may not be there if it doesn't go to plan!
Most will have mortgages that need paying as well!

Although I can't see the logic in offering players who couldn't make a Conference starting 11 a contract for Div 2.

I see your point but at this level the wages will not be any lower than last season, you either want to play or dont, same as any job say your boss said ok ggmi ,contract time , you would either say yes or no as if you dawdled the boss would probably get someone else in

I hear that your illustrious, extensive shorn locks are being spun into yarn to knit blankets for the poor down and outs of Ashton. But I reckon that is just a rumour, as I know you would not pee on them if they were on fire.
