So let's play the political game...anyone amongst us want to stand against this at the next election? And anyone willing to support them if they do? regardless of who's in power anyone can apply for a judicial review. a judicial review is meant to be used if people think the proper process' wasn't followed during planning permission instead its used to throw a spanner in the works when these professional antagonists don't get there way. it wateres me off but its always going to happen regardless of which useless priick is running the city. Yeah, I see your point about the JRs, but we keep electing useless priicks...Anyone care to guess which council ward in the city would have the highest concentration of Gasheads living in it? Pretty sure every council ward is up for election in 2016, are you seriously telling me having a councillor who's won on a pro-Bristol Rovers (even a pro 'sports' development) mandate wouldn't be useful for us overall?

Round like a circle in a spiral. Like a wheel within a wheel. On a never ending or beginning on a never ending reel.

I get why a Nimby would object to any proposals - "Not in my back yard" is selfish but justifiable.
These guys aren't just Nimby's but contain a good number of what are now called "Banana"s.......
Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything.
These guys just object to anything - full stop. The troubling thing as that they know the rules, they know how to abuse the rules but keep just within the law, they know how to make it an expense that they don't have to meet personally. In short they are effectively professional trouble makers who are happy to promote their agenda while hiding behind the Nimby's who are always happy to front up the campaign on local grounds.
This is what happened with the Village Green, with the Mem and now with the cricket club.
Personally I hate it, but if someone was trying to build an incinerator at the end of my garden I would do exactly the same - and 99.9% of you out there would as well !!!

AND they got in because "people" would rather watch Eastenders than get off their settees and go and vote, because as we know "it wont make a difference".

Every big city has a large student population, but those cities don't vote for Green candidates in such numbers. Bristol is different to almost every other big city in England in that despite sharing things like a large industrial base and pockets of deprivation, it's prosperous and unemployment is relatively low. Perhaps because of this it doesn't have a rock-solid Labour vote, unlike Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Birmingham etc. People are not traditionally tied to Labour (or any other party) in Bristol. I agree about the not turning out to vote thing though. If you can't be bothered to vote in leafy Surrey, so what? The Tories will win anyway. As will Labour in Liverpool. In Bristol things are different, and anything can and does happen if anti-Greens don't make an effort to vote.

These are the same people who think they own the road outside their houses, also get pished off with people who think they have a right to daylight or a right to the views from their windows, things move on and change, not many would even notice the flood lights as in a few days they would forget they were there. Some of these nimbys need to take a drink from the cup of grow the fucck up.

So I will refer you to my previous question which no-one has even hazarded an ill-informed un-educated guess at... Anyone care to guess which council ward in the city would have the highest concentration of Gasheads living in it? Pretty sure every council ward is up for election in 2016, are you seriously telling me having a councillor who's won on a pro-Bristol Rovers (even a pro 'sports' development) mandate wouldn't be useful for us overall? I would hazard a guess that an organised campaign could easily cause the Green Party to have to spend time and money they wouldn't otherwise have to do. I'd actually guess there are one or two council wards that could be won by a pro-Bristol Rovers candidate...which ones are they?

The nimbys of bs7 are also against a planned weatherspoons on gloucester rd. They dnt want riff raff and working class types spoiling there green and pleasant land! Id hazard a guess that 80% + are non bristolians chattering claptrappers and want mud coffee houses and shops selling tyed dyed clothing and free range allotment reared brown back hens eggs. Ha!
