Worth a prayer I suppose. He could feed the 5,000. 12 disciples might be just enough for friendlies. I've got doubts about Thomas though.

No way he could stay. The pressure would be immense. Then what? Personally, I don't think he should go if the worst happens. However, we have a sizeable number of fans who have been sharpening their knives for a long time and if it does go wrong, to say we'd have a meltdown would be an understatement.

If it was a normal business he would be out on his ear already. However Football doesn't work like that as we know.
In the scenario that Sainsbury's win, NH record as is abysmal pumping in money to cover mistake after mistake. The only question is, what would NH and want to step aside as in that Scenario the football club is worth nothing.

Easy Give the club to the people on the other place they know how to run a club they keep posting on how to !

In all fairness (taking the decision to retain DC last summer out of the equation) you could toss a coin on all the major decisions he's made and statistically you'd be guaranteed to do a better job by relying on luck...?

No. You also need chemistry.

The mem is a awful ground its never felt like home, I preferred twerton park that's how bad it is. It looks nothing like a football stadium and the crowds we get we deserve better. Just for the sake of nothing, I've (very badly) photoshopped the Mem to show how it would look if we extended the Dribuild and West stands, and replaced the South with something like the Blackthorn. Interesting to see. Well I think so anyway. Don't know how to make it bigger apart from clicking on the attached pic at the bottom. looks great. Do I need your permission to use it as my desktop photo? I'll be the envy of the office now.

I hope it is all academic, especially as I could do with more wheelchair spaces that I expect the UWE to have, but how would/should an improved Mem realistically look? The previous plans were for 18,500 all seater costing £35m, granted that was for student accommodation too.
I guess the obvious thing is a new stand to replace the Centenary Stand and terrace going the full pitch length and something more permanent at the end. That would leave the West Stand and Blackthorn End as is.
From what I can see from some other ground improvements it would take about £5-6m just to build a new stand of about 4,000, although I couldn't find anything too specific and I guess it could vary quite a bit, depending on many factors including what goes underneath.
How does capacity break down across the different parts of the ground?
Something that leaves about 15,000 capacity would best in my view.

It would be nice to see a new ground for us at some stage during my lifetime! We've had 5-10 proposals that have got us nowhere since 86!

I'm getting excited about the next new stadium already. And we haven't even scrapped this one yet!

I recall vague discussions about Stoke Gifford and Hambrook in the 80s, trying to buy back Eastville and we even put in a cheeky offer for Ashton Gate. Then Mangotsfield which was rejected in 1990. Roll forward to Avonmouth (health and safety ruled this out) and Hengrove (?). Then redeveloping the Mem with a new stand, later the total redevelopment plan and now UWE. Have I missed anything? To date that is!!!

Was that really a proposal at one point?! That would've been great for me.
