Della Verde's attitude was always the problem though wasn't it? I thought it was well established that is why DC didn't go in for him again. I know the season-long loan is BS, but that's in response to signings him on a free. I wouldn't mind Dawson, but I think it'll be someone else. Why the delay unless he's missed out on other targets if its him? We'll see tomorrow I guess (or possibly Friday). Pre-season training begins tomorrow as well, we might have something to talk about!! "well established" surely that's only your view point? Given LDV started every game when fit then his attitude couldn't have been as bad as EH's earlier last season as he spent most of the time on the bench. As far as Dawson if you're so well informed surely you know he's spent most of this summer so far on holiday? However any footballer is going to wait for the best offer and as Ronnie Moore said yesterday wingers are luxury players who's price drops when nobody signs them.

I wasn't sure that it was LDV's attitude more his defensive qualities.

Hope it's not from the same source as on Facebook who claims we are signing him on a season long loan! That would be more realistic than him signing for us Well that back fired didn't it Phil?!

DLV and Dawson would tear league two full backs to pieces... Well they both tore conference defences to peices. At times Daws was frustrating but looking back even in his poorest games he normally still set up a goal with a cross either from open play or a corner. Add lines Daws and LDV to what we've got and I honestly think with the momentum we've got we'll be top 7.

I'd love to see LDV or Dawson back. Not sure if we could use both, but it would be fun to try them.

However any footballer is going to wait for the best offer and as Ronnie Moore said yesterday wingers are luxury players who's price drops when nobody signs them. We had other opportunities to sign LDV and we didn't make an offer according to McNamara, because DC didn't want to. On here it was speculated that his attitude didn't suit DC's philosophy, quite widely speculated actually. Hence why I thought the opinion that attitude was a potential stumbling block was 'well established'. It might be wrong, that's online speculation for you. You make the assumption that I'm 'well informed' about Dawson, I don't know if he's on holiday - I don't stalk the poor bloke! Players and particularly agents can still operate whilst players are on holiday. Dawson won't be dealing with contracts and their conditions, the agent who is most busy at this time of year will. I think Ronnie Moore's comments are spin. The idea of only 'luxury players' trying to screw over clubs (whatever that means, I don't know many FL clubs which don't have any wingers) is rubbish. Agents try and secure the best deal for any player, becoming less picky as time goes on regardless of their position on the pitch.

I'm personally of the understanding that we won't be seeing Dawson again and I'd be willing to put a fair wager on that.
LDV clearly has the ability (and could be a player we could make a fortune on longer-term; especially as he wouldn't require a transfer fee initially).
However, unless LDV himself doesn't want to come back, I imagine DC isn't keen on his attitude (as has been speculated) as surely it can't be that he doesn't rate him ability wise?

I assume Dawson will need to be in the country to sign his contract whoever he joins. Looking at LDV's latest tweet perhaps he's having a dig at suggestions he has a poor attitidue? #sadpeople

Poor attitude? Wonder what that means in this case.....
Did anyone watch the LeTiss documentary last night? Some commentators questioned his approach to the game due to his fitness. Gascoigne, Roy Keane, Simon Bryant, DC himself.
For all we know LDV might not drink alcohol and therefore doesn't fit in with the accepted behaviour of getting sloshed on a Saturday night? That could translate into poor attitude in a football clique.

is there any evidence anywhere to show that della verde has a bad attitude or for that matter that dc wasnt keen because of this?

is there any evidence anywhere to show that della verde has a bad attitude or for that matter that dc wasnt keen because of this? All I've seen is a couple of posts from forum users suggesting that might be the case, then again the suggestion we might be signing him also comes from forum users! The fact he's definately trained with Mansfield last season suggests he might be prepared to drop down to Div 2 to get a contract, surely apart from Pompey we can offer a v. good deal for Div 2?
