According to wiki he is a centre attacking midfield, I've always thought he was a striker. Still young at 23 and worth a look I suppose.

I remember him playing against us for Torquay I think it was and he seemed decent. At a good young age and has played a decent amount of games already. Winger or striker so it gives us a couple of options.

This could cost me a quid for the FFSC if he signs!

A bit underwhelming but a trial doesn't hurt anyone I guess.

Hasn't played for over a year, apparently, coz of injury initially, and couldn't break into the Northampton team (made a few sub appearances?).

Another young keen player that DC (and Mansell) will know all about from his time at Torquay. You don't become a bad player overnight. Could be a good signing if he proves his fitness.

Just to add JM has just said that there should be a signing at lunchtime, a wide player. Cue meltdown.....

I don't think we'd take a lad on trial then sign him, either we've already had this lad for the past 2 weeks and only just found out it, or its somebody else I'd think

BRISTOL Rovers boss Darrell Clarke has offered a two-week trial to former Torquay winger Billy Bodin.
The 22-year-old, who can also play as a striker, joined Northampton Town in January after recovering from a knee injury and made four appearances for Chris Wilder's side.
Bodin started his career at Swindon and made 16 showings from 2010 to 2012, scoring three goals. During his time at the Wiltshire outfit he spent time out on loan at Torquay and Crewe, before signing for the Gulls on a permanent deal. He played 70 times at Plainmoor and netted six times.
The Wales Under-21 international was ruled out for nine months last April with a knee ligament issue, but was signed for the Cobblers at the turn of the year.
He held talks with Northampton at the end of the 2014/15 campaign but failed to agree a new deal and became a free agent.
Clarke is in the market for at least two new wide players after the departures of Andy Monkhouse, Abdulai Baggie and Adam Dawson, who returned to parent club Leicester after a loan spell at the Memorial Stadium.

The wide player possibly signing is in addition to Bodin

I could have swore this guy was a striker but his goal scoring record is, well, dreadful. So I hope for his sake he's a winger!
Has always done well against us to be fair. Pretty sure I remember him scoring against us.

Wide man is somebody who hasn't been with Rovers before, and has Football League experience - via James McNamara.

Trotman hasn't returned for pre-season with Rovers. Darrell says he thinks he is fixed up elsewhere. #bristolrovers
