I've not been to any friendlies so was wondering what position he's been playing? does anybody have any info on a possible deal?

A decision to be made in the next day or two I believe. He played as a striker yesterday the two other players we had on trial JMR and TA are no longer with us. I watched him play yesterday and was not impressed.

He seems to have played a couple of games from the wing, then he got a hat-trick playing as a St in our 7-0 win. Went to watch yesterday can't say I was overly impressed, but it seems difficult to judge as I don't think anyone had a particularly good game yesterday apart from probably James Clarke and Leadbitter who I thought was our best player.

Agree mate, didn't see what all the fuss was about yesterday. I haven't gone to the previous matches admittedly but the highlights looked like we were playing very very poor teams. DC is a good judge...

Having seen the friendlies, the only one who looks the part is indeed Bodin. His positional sense is totally superior to what we have, he can't be blamed if others do not give him the required passes. At our level, I think he would be a tremendous asset.

You could tell from DC's answer at the Q&A that he knew he was in a bit of a quandary.
He did well at Salisbury IMO and did a lot of work that may not be sexy, but is necessary for a team. Tackled like a tiger. Looked like a man really wanting a contract. Played on wing, but cut inside quite a lot.
BUT played as a striker at Cirencester, and during the Q&A DC basically said he wanted to see him play as a winger vs Arsenal but wasn't sure if he could have such a formation as he wanted to press Arsenal high up the pitch and maybe play 3 up top, with Bodin high left.
I didn't go to Arsenal, so I'd also be interested to know how he did there / what role he had.
I get the impression DC hasn't really managed to see him enough in the position he really wants to fill, which is a bit of a problem. He's been here 2 weeks, and played 3 games, whereas Ajala and JMW have gone. Decision time must surely be soon...?? Seems a bit unfair if he keeps on playing and might not get an offer...

Had very little impact on the game. Taylor and Easter were a lot more effective.

Far more effective than Taylor. Easter looks like he might just be coming good at last. Not sure Taylor is fully fit mind, but shot wide from no distance and completely missed a pass for a decent headed opportunity.
But best player by a country mile was Clarke (Woking). Looks a good player. Leadbitter also looks good, but I think he needs to work on his crosses.

Well we seem very light out wide at the moment (numbers wise) can anyone who has seen him play on the wing tell me if they think he's a capable player there?

Taylor was our best striker last season. Look in the book.

On goals per game Ellis was far and away our best striker. Difference is if Taylor plays well I will say so.

That's true but in the Rovers history books / stats it will show that taylor scored 21 or whatever it was and he was our top scorer. I think Ellis is more of a natural finisher and I think Easter probably is too, but taylor played more games and scored more goals last season than either of them for very good reasons.

I went to the game yesterday and asked the Mrs what position she thought he was suppose to be playing in. She wouldn't believe me that he is a winger. I don't think he was on the wing at all yesterday. Goslings crossing was very floaty and curled to much. Thought leadbetter was superb. Probably the best player on the day from both teams. Very pacey, good direct crossing tracked back well. Could prove better than smudger in time.

Easter was constantly injured and Harrison had attitude problems. Like I said, look in the book.

I thought Bodin looked alright on Saturday. Seemed to be employed predominantly as a target man and tried to make the most of it even though you could tell it was his natural game.
