Oh no not the scoreboard again! If the club has no intention of fixing it then why not take it down? It's hard to belive but we looked more professional last August then we did on Saturday!! Not doing any harm is it Topper? it will just leave another blank space of concrete the club will struggle to fill with advertising. There are already 3 "advertise here" banners around the poor old defunct scoreboard. The volunteers that sit up in the Dri-Build running the scoreboards must be hoping the other one doesn't pack up or they will be out of a free match ticket!

The Blackthorn speakers were as good as ever on Saturday too.
How many seasons have they been dodgy for now? 3/4?

I cannot see what the problem is, it does not work, end of.
This is hardly an important or urgent matter.
When UWE is built your problem will be solved!!!!!!

Wow, you're complaining about people complaining about something that hasn't happened yet, in a stadium that hasn't been built yet, with money that hasn't been raised yet. In order, presumably, to shut down a legitimate complaint about something that is actually real. Nice one.

Basic stuff being talked about here. The club must lose so much money at games like this. The queue for the outlets behind the blackthorn was 50 yards long 10 minutes into the 2nd half.
How about roaming refreshments? Even if it was just pasties n pies it might help.

Hate to have a moan, but the was an awful mistake in the back of the programme. It listed our next home game as being against Birmingham on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. Might throw a few people who don't follow the forums etc.

Yeah, we had a roaming refreshment thing at the first game of last season*, presumably in response to this sort of complaint. My wife loved it coz they had popcorn. She was all looking forward to the next game, where she planned on buying three tubs of popcorn, and we never saw it again. *Either that or it was just some unofficial chancer trying to earn a few bob.

The thing is we keep on expecting, and getting, poor service. 'Expecting' shouldn't be 'accepting'. The PA system (where it works!) sounds like a microphone is being held over an old Dansette record player. The Safety Announcements are a disgrace. They sound as if someone is talking through a blanket. No-one can hear what is being said. Gawd help the club if someone misses a message which has serious consequences. Not having all the turnstiles open for the first game of the season after a promotion season is inexcusable. Yet for so long as we keep on taking it it'll keep on happening. Most fans throughout the country would be green-eyed with envy to have two Fans Directors. But how are we any better or different for having them? Yes, they do the stuff that no other director can be arsed to do; but how do the matchday fans benefit?

Most supporters around me used to complain you could not read what it said and it was a complete waste of space and I sit opposite it.
There are NO parts to repair it. Do you suggest we pay to have these manufactured?
In the scheme of things, this has a zero priority as far as I am concerned.

Surely the club should have enough turnstile operators on the books to allow cover for holidays etc? Not sure who's remit this is, but it would be nice to see the club focusing on the basic requirements to make the matchday experience as enjoyable as possible off the pitch.

Yes, really. The legitimate complaint is that it doesn't work. I mean, that's factual, istm. If you want to answer that, 'yes it doesn't work, and that's too bad, we can't afford to fix it,' then istm that would be a decent answer (whether you agree with it or not). If you want to answer 'someone will be whining in the UWE when it gets built,' or ,'some people whined before it was broke,' then that's a sh** answer. Just because it has zero priority, doesn't mean it's not broken.

As I said in my post if it's not going to fixed why not have it removed, and then use the space for advertising income? As far as waiting for the UWE, unless the UWE really are going to fund it I guess we'll have a v. long wait.

I have to admit, I did take a look around myself whilst enjoying a beer in the club bar after the game and think to myself "we really are rag bag rovers in our set up". It feels how I would expect it feels at Paulton Rovers, almost as if the club is stuck in the 70's or something.
I looked at all of the mismatched tables and chairs, looked at the laminated leaflet for the Christmas cabaret night, the stink of chip fat that stinks out the whole bar and then memories of Santa's grotto come rushing to mind.... To be honest, it is all a bit embarrassing.
I also can't help but glance admiringly over the garden fence at the plans that lot have for their club.
We are a long long way behind the trend sadly.

No problems getting into the south stand and the pasty hut was well staffed. Woo woo! Bloody prawn cocktail brigade.... Don't care about the poor of the Blackthorn! Come the revolution....

I too hate to moan, but it has all got a little embarrassing of late.
From Santa's grotto, to trying to sue Wycombe and to the wonga loan! Bit of a laughing stock.
