And also getting letters threatening legal action? Plus why has worked stopped on the construction of the new stand? You do have to wonder if the investors actually exist or, if they do, whether they still intend completing the deal. Sounds familiar.

You do have to wonder if the investors actually exist or, if they do, whether they still intend completing the deal. Iirc, worked stopped on the stand coz the company dealing with the enabling development went bust, and then it was delayed again coz the consortium came in. And also iirc, (as opposed to what I said above) the council's money is all tied up in the land for the enabling development, so they have the £10m asset but don't have the cash. All this trying to do a sharp deal to get a stadium on the cheap and being thwarted by having unreliable partners rings a bell, somehow.

The chairman has come out on the BBC and said he will personally cover the bill. I'm assuming he will then add it to the cost for the people who are taking over the club? The stories I've read say that's the problem. He won't pay until he sells the club (therefore I'm assuming using the sale to pay the loan, either directly or indirectly). And the only quote I've read about him says Which in no way indicates he intends to pay the debt...

Just seen this posted on their forum, there's even suggestions the chairman's run off with part of the loan!
I've spoken with a few people this morning and I believe that the only way we can get anywhere at this extremely late stage is by targeting the council direct.
1. What have you done to ensure that the loan has been spent on its original purpose? 2. What provisions are in place to ensure that this money will be recouped in full? 3. What is the councils up to date stance with regards to the outlined planning permission given behind the East Stand and surrounding areas for housing and 'some retail' given that the 10million plus already loaned has not been spent as intended?

I lived in Northampton for 20+ years and their chairman David Cardoza has been Chairman for many years.
Perhaps it's a case of being in the job to long. Does that sound familiar?
