Other clubs have have done this, the Football League are offering clubs the service when either the game is sold out or a long way for fans to travel week nights. Apparently there is a cost involved (1k+) which is probably why there is an admission fee.
They could stick radio on in the background, however if there is a delay it could be abit annoying!
Have a few beers and a sing song, think it's a great idea.

Extra income for the club, some fans can't make games away in the week because of work etc also an option for people that can't afford to pay to get to the game.

I said Rovers would start to show away games at the mem. This will be happening more in the future and we are not the only club doing it. They can show as many games as they want. If there's no live commentary and it costs £7 to get in, it won't be very popular! The beer ain't the best, it's expensive, many fans live away from the Mem-Driving distance. It's a Friday night..... The die hards will be in Cambridge. I can't see too many going to the Mem. Why not make it free? The bar and kitchen would cover staff costs. Be lucky to get 200 up there I reckon.

I genuinely thought the post was a wind up and the link would take me to something else, although surely it wouldn't cost that much to add commentary? Could they just put gas player on in the background? Better still just boardcast it live on the Gasplayer/YouTube?

It would be easy for them to add radio Bristol as a second audio track on the feed so it would be synced to the video then but they would have to pay the BBC even more for the privilege.

Didn't the Hartlepool playoff beamback from the 06/07 season have Screen soccer commentary with it?

Before kick off at the plymouth game i heard their PA system advertising a similar thing (or may have just been on sky), but what i do remember (as i thought at the time what a great deal) is their £5 admission included a pint & pasty!
Think weve missed a trick here, should be offering something similar (atleast to attract attention to the first one) to gain an optimum turn out.

If you're gonna get a pint and pasty then there is no point charging in the first place pretty much. It's a bit greedy of the club but I think it is good business as there will still be plenty of people who go.

Nightclubs learnt a long time ago when they would make more money overall by offering free admission, and this seems like one of those situations

Somehow I don't think there paying the bbc for any privilege as the don't own the rights anymore,

WTF have Heineken and Rugger got to do with the gas anyway? Precisely I don't think this has more to do with the latter than the former!! Perhaps Heineken are part fo the "consortioum"!!

Bit of a joke really with only a month to go. For those who've pre planned trips and travel it's a p**s take doing it so close, these sorts of changes should be made pre season to avoid inconvenience. Any train buffs reckon you could use train tickets with a letter noticing of the fixture change for use of travel? You wait to when we are in the Premier League then you'll see what moving games at short notice (to accommodate the millions that want to watch us on TV) is all about!

Not sure Premiership games are actually moved at short notice anyway, as don't Sky/BT release thier schedules in August for the following few months?
