I'd pay it to watch live tv coverage if I could be there, but it's another night game so I can't.
But it is away, so being able to watch live for a fiver, with other gasheads - yes, I would.

Has anybody actually payed £5 to watch the telly on Friday night? Just another rip off for the fans Rip off for the fans or a good business opportunity to make an extra few quid for the club? I'm all for slating the club and the board when they are wrong but in this case they have come up with a good idea in my opinion. Nobody is being forced to pay or go there to watch it. If you don't like it then don't go. Simples.

Perfectly reasonable I reckon, I'm planning on going up to watch it in the bar, it's going to work out a lot cheaper than actually going to the game and the money goes to the club plus it gives a lot more people the chance of actually seeing the game which can only be a good thing.
I'm sure I read somewhere that they had to pay to put it on and then on top of that you've got the wages of all the staff to cover as well, so £5 seems like a fair price to me.

Rip off for the fans? It cost them money to put it on (it is not being televised by Sky, this is a one off feed), not to mention it is £20 a ticket to go and watch it in person. Don't know why you feel entitled to it for free.

Not a rip off at all. I may go. Watch the match on the big screen and have a drink with fellow gasheads

I'm going to see Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse on Friday, at least I KNOW I will be entertained, and not go home in a bad mood

I live in London but booked the Saturday off to see the game. Now I am having to pay £75 for a hotel room because I can't get back to where I live on the Friday night because the tubes stop running to where I live before I get back. Train Fare + hotel fare + ticket for the match = that's a rip-off and I blame Cambridge for the stupid date switch. At least all their rugby loving Aussie and All Blacks fans can have the day off to watch the Rugby World Cup final though, eh? (PS I will also miss the normally large Gas away following as many will take up the Mem offer and not bother travelling)

I was told by the barman that there will not be any sound streamed with the pictures of the match.

This is an excellent initiative from the club.

Great idea from the club.
Makes a change! I'm usually one of the first to moan about the lack of initiative to come up with ideas such as this.

This is a great chance for fans to come to the Mem and see us win!.
We seem to have a lot more freedom to attack on the break and find gaps in the opposition defences in away games rather than the packed ones we face at home matches.
And I am sure that if Parkes had scored a first half own goal in an away game he would have had a much better second half than having to hear the stick he got at the Mem. The same as Nichols who had to contend with sarcastic cheering when he made catches after his blunder. When are some fans going to learn, the critisim does not sting players into action, it just makes thing worse.
At least at the beam back .......... in the Mem, no one can hear you scream (in Cambridge)! Apologies to Ridley Scott!

I was told by the barman that there will not be any sound streamed with the pictures of the match. This was stated on the OS when the feed was advertised - I think it is no commentary rather than no sound at all though. So Buckrippers had better sing Goodnight Irene REALLY LOUD!!

The same as Nichols who had to contend with sarcastic cheering when he made catches after his blunder. Pretty sure that was just Newport fans.
