Dover mistake did though? Although as a shot stopper I'd rate Puddy above Nicholls, and distribution wise he's a similar standard, I guess Puddy's got a month or so to prove himself good enough? I hear you, Dover mistake wasn't good. But, when Mildy played last, he didn't look mobile or fit. Nothing against him but I think his time has gone. Puddy younger, more agile, better distribution, out of the 2, Puddy. We actually looking for another keeper January? I too have my doubts that early 2015 Mildy was as fit as he should have been coming back from that knee injury, maybe he was rushed back too quickly and paid the consequences There have been a number of players who have since lost form by equal measures, all and sundry losing confidence in them including fans on these forums, but Mildy is the only one not given the chance to have another go and redeem himself and recapture his form and reclaim his place. Many of the things said on here about him have also been said about McChrystal, Mansell, Lines, Parkes etc Said it before, leaving Mildenhall out is not a pure football decision, there's something else going on. If Mildenhall's form was the only issue, then DC would not have persevered with Puddy either as he has made made poor mistakes too. If form was the only issue, he would have been dealt with like everyone else in the squad. That hasn't happened. I'm guessing, but money? Contract clauses?

I'm presuming the reason Mildenhall is being overlooked is purely a footballing one as he is always on the bench. If he were to come on at any time then surely that would trigger a clause if there were one? Its an odd one for sure. As it is, I think Mildenhall is shot and Puddy not good enough.

Regardless of whatever opinion anybody may have on it he IS going to get his chance now, so I support him 100%, and if he isn't good enough when given the chance then DC will know it better than any one and will do his best to address it like he has everything within his limited means, I hope he comes in and does a good job therefor giving us one less thing to worry about, as I seem to keep saying lately... Time will tell. Utg

Surely he was given his chance at the start of the season and shown to be not good enough? I can't really see money comes into it as surely we have to pay him whether he plays or not? Given he's already triggered one contract extension I can't imagine he would be able to trigger another one for next season.

Why ask questions then if you don't want answers? Simple fact is that he's been given two chances since his injury and has been poor on both occassions.

When he returned from injury last season and then at the start of this season. Without checking I'd suggest the results with Chappers & Nicholls in the team where on better on average than with Mildenhall in goal.

Puddy played for 70 minutes before being substituted by Preston. In all honesty he had very little to do and it was just a question of getting 70 minutes playing time under his belt. I regret to say that only Montano showed any real skill on a cold and windy pitch. We are woefully short of players that look capable of forcing their way into the first team at the moment. Harrison was OK, but you could tell he was performing in a reserve game and not a first team game, if you know what I mean.
