First friendly I have seen so this is the forst time I have seen Higgins and was thoroughly impressed by him. If I was Clarke I would be taking him into the manager's office asap to sign a contract. Not too disappointed to see Smith go if he keeps that up.
Monkhouse and Sinclair also stood out for me.

Much better player than Smith was when he first arrived, and he must be 5 years younger? Very impressive player and fits the role of wing back well.

If he does sign then I'm really looking forward to seeing him play. Only heard good things about him so far and would really soften the blow of Smudgers departure.

If we don't give the lad a contract we need our heads read. If managed well he could go from a good player to a great player and is already one that obviously takes pride in his performance. Don't mind if this one pats the badge - he plays with his heart on his sleeve.

Today was the first I've seen of Higgins and he looks a tidy player. First half in particular in stood out.
Would be happy to see him sign as Smith's replacement.

Yup would be a very good signing, the lads had a great football education and is desperate to do well.

What I liked most about Higgins was that he stayed on the line and did not get dragged inside. We always knew where he was for an out ball or to set up a raid on goal.
Not just pacey, but has a brain as well. Sign him up yesterday please DC.

I think its pretty safe to say he will be signed up in the next few days. JT as well please! Then we will have a backline as good as any in the league.

Fairly sure both JT and RH will get offers this coming week and again, I will be very impressed. I like DC a lot and I don't think I've ever wanted a manager to do so well on a personal level as I do with this guy. I have a bit of a crush on him probably.

It's a shame for Higgins but it sounds like Leadbitter's the real deal. However, I'm sure that the rave reviews won't have gone unnoticed by other clubs and DC is sure to give a good reference. Will probably sign for a competitor and score a hat trick against us.

Think the Board should be getting involved and provide Clarke with extra cash to sign both Leadbitter and Higgins. Skimping around will do us no good whatsoever. IMO this is very important and surely Smith going will free up cash to bring in an extra player. From what people are saying Higgins may be a prudent signing as we have little cover. Even BEFORE Smith went clarke was saying there would be 4 new players. We of course still need a winger and a striker.

Bristol Rovers @official_BRFC 3m Darrell Clarke says he has not ruled out making an offer to Ryan Higgins #BristolRovers Mixed emotions on this really for me. He has probably looked our best player in the pre-season games but now we have signed Leadbitter, I can't help but feel we should focus on other areas of the team first now. If we can get Higgins and strengthen elsewhere as well then great but Higgins over a winger/creative midfielder/striker? Not at the moment thanks.

If we can fit it in the budget though I'd love to have both. That being said, I do wonder wether both can be in the side when we/if play 4-4-2. Spoke to a Hereford online, he said that wingback would suit Leadbitter down to the ground but a lot during the season he wished their manager played him right wing due to his pace and trickiness. If we signed both could we use both down the right side when at 4-4-2? Also if we ever had injury to a a player at the back Leadbitter can fill CB/LWB whilst Higgins fills RWB?

Just said on twitter Clarke has not ruled out signing him. Good ... pleased to hear this. Higgins comes across as someone who will give all for the team and club and his performances justify a place. With Smith going we must have the finances to get him on board. If not we might live to regret not taking the chance on him.

I get the impression DC is planning on the long haul, keeping his powder dry ... all well and good providing he gets a full season to work his magic.
