Some people would like it if we don'y even get in the play-offs. I'll plump for Cobblers Argyle Gas ---------- Oxford Accy Carlisle Pompey Why would you even post that? Because some people would like it if we don't get into the playoffs?

Form table put Rovers 2nd behind Cobblers, averaging 2 points per game. Continuing that will give Rovers 83 points; but it's not enough as Plymouth and Oxford on are target for 85.

I believe that Northampton are the only club nailed on for promotion.
Given they've struggled to pay their squad- financial FairPlay is given a kick into touch?

So if we'd won rather than lost at Accy we'd be on course for 86 pts and promotion? If so, that sounds too close to call to me.

Although those stats show how tight it is for a Play off spot with 4 pts, if you inc Accy, separating 9 teams fighting for just 4 places. Rovers next 5 games are all against teams struggling in the form tables at present, with Pompey only having won 1 in 5. www.soccerstats.com/formtable.asp?league=england4

The other thing to remember is that some of the top ten play each other in the next few weeks or so (us included). It is in our own hands.

Cambridge fans. Yeovil fans. Etc..... We are not as universally liked as we like to think. Plenty see us as arrogant big time charlies who need knocking down. Then there are some of our own who think failure may hasten the exit of certain board members and expedite regime change. They are out there.... And then, there are many positive thinking folks who may want us to miss the play offs because we will hit top 3. Wild eh?

How can we be averaging 2 points per game when we have played 29 and have 47 points, that is 1.62 points per games which if averaging out over the season is 74.5 points

No wonder Northampton are running away with it, 27 out of last 30pts!!
Northampton Oxford Accrington ------- Plymouth Orient Gas Pompey
Is my top 7. Don't think it will end up that way though, as someone will surely burst into the Top 7 as someone does every year. No idea who though!

Accy have only won 3 of their last 8 games and I can't see Windass & his team mate going mad for promotion now they've signed contracts at Rangers, top 7 is the best they'll get in y view, the one's to watch could well be Cambridge?

Don't think that's an awful return, and if they win one instead of lose one its 2 points a game which is more than enough for automatic. What makes me think they'll do it is obviously their games in hand, plus 12 of their last 20 games are at home. Only dropped 10pts at home, and if they can gain momentum they play Carlisle, Pompey, Plymouth and Wycombe there in the space of a month. Of course, that could go the other way with injuries etc. or loss of momentum. Having looked at the league table, Carlisle have to be the ones who could put a run together. Maybe Cambridge too as you say. We need to pick up points or it could all slip very quickly.

I thought my granddad put it best he said sadly were the 5th best team in a league where only 4 go up.That being the present top 3 and Portsmouth and then us.If we made it to another play-off final at wembley i wouldnt fancy pompey so i think our best chance is to nick 3rd place of Oxford or Plymouth, but we need to go on a good run to catch the top 3 as there breaking away from the pack and its becoming a 3 horse race.

Our Play Off final last season shows it's a lottery, as we were the team on form with by far the biggest following but we were still v. lucky to win. If we are to end the season on a high Taylor/Gaffney or Easter/Fallon have to start scoring regularly again PDQ.
