Bearing in mind Clarke seems to prefer young, hungry players but our strikerforce is already full of them and the new player will be replacing the experienced Harold, what type of striker do you think we are looking to sign? Also will it be another target man or a different type of striker? Anybody gonna have a guess at who it could be?

A big guy, maybe target type. Bruntish in case he gets injured. Like Harrold but talented.

You can't have a man with shredded wheat for hair play up front. The day of the comb over is gone, or has it ?

Hope not but I noticed on the Torquay forum that Billy Bodin was leaving. I wouldn't have thought it was him as he is not a physical guy but I do recall his father being in the bar at one of the last games last season and I believe he does come from Swindon.

It won't be Bodin. He is out for most of this season with a knee ligament damage.

A big strong type who the others can play off, needs to chip in with minimum 12 goals himself.

Ex Hartlepool so probably knows Clarke and fits the target man mould. He must be approaching 40 now though... Seems to have been around for ever.

Could probably still do a job at Conference level, but he'd nearly be twice the age of the rest of our squad! Can't see it being him, personally.

Steve Howard has been out of contract since last November. His fitness level wouldn't be great and more than likely miles away from what Clarke would like.
