I'd rather have a shithole in Horfield than a brand new 21,700 capacity stadium we didn't own entirely. I would not be happy with any new stadium if we did not have full ownership and derive 100% of the revenue streams.
NH has always said that we need the revenue streams to enable BRFC to progress over the foreseeable future.
My problem is S Glos planning authority. Would they grant an alteration to the planning consent when they have always insisted any stadium must met their "aims for S Glos" and that was a stadium for 22k. Not sure if the plans also state that the stadium must contain 22k seats from the start

I suggest we launch a 'Playground' area on Gaschat where we can put the petty/childish posts.

Just a thought - if we part owned a 21,000 stadium on a 50:50 split, would this be better than a wholly owned 12,000 capacity stadium especially when attendances are higher than 12,000 in the bigger stadium! Answers on a postcard to Mr T Watola, The Main Site Office, UWE, Filton.

Why would anyone go for option 1?
Our debt is high enough without owing a stadium as well.

Well we tried selling our stadium to rent in the 50's and finished up at Bath!
Personally I could never understand why we needed a 22,000 stadium in the first place, I'd have always built a 15,000 seater and spent the rest on a decent team & /or our own training facilities. Then expanded when we got chance, an half full stadium never sounded exciting to me.
As far as S Glos are concerned are they really going to turn down a 12,000 stadium when it is apparently the leaver to a £200m investment on thier patch?? If they are, then perhaps they could pay the difference so we can build the stadium to its original plans?

What if the council were the part owners and wanted little in return other than unlocking the other development ? And that is why the original question is impossible to answer without knowing the full terms of any potential partnership ....

Not picking or wumming, but Bristol City Council hasn't got a pot to water in, let alone invest in a stadium.

It's south Gloucestershire council but the way the club is desperate to win the court case perhaps suggests that they and uwe are unwilling to fund it aswell

Ever feel like we are going round in circles on here? Been doing that since we sold Eastville to the Bristol Greyhound Co and started to rent it in 40s (I think) or 50s. UTG!

Perhaps S Glos wanted proof beyond doubt Sainsbury's could walk away from a supposedly watertight contract?

For the purpose of discussion only and based on no inside knowledge ( ), which would be the better option for us fans i) A Bristol Rovers owed reduced capacity Stadium of say 12-15K or ii) A fully built 21,700 seat stadium which we only have a part share in the ownership ? I would go for option i) as i think this is the most viable at this moment in time You really are an idiot - 1 is with current BOD 2 is available without the current BOD
