Who said cityinpeace is gutted? I think we should keep our feet on the ground. After all many people have spent years telling them how arrogant they are. We may not be Ragbag Rovers any more but at least we should not try to become like some City82 supporters... I'm defiantly not gutted. Obviously you are all getting a bit excited about, which is fair enough, the same happened when Lansdown happened. If anything, this may make City push further on, for obvious reasons. There is however a danger to the deal you've just done, just hope it ends positively for you lot. Banned. Woo woo!

How much either owners are worth is irrelevant, lansdown has already spent a vast chunk on city to get basically nowhere (in league position terms), whilst our new owners have yet to get to work. We can only judge in three years time. City's biggest worry will be if the rugby club start challenging at the top of the Prem, lansdown may then start to lose interest with an underperforming football side, thankfully i doubt if they've even heard of rugby in Jordan!

Beyond all the banter (and, TBF I can't see much evidence they're 'gutted') there is something important about this. As someone wrote on another thread recently, football allegiance in Bristol is often determined by who is doing well when you are young. That allegiance then usually lasts for the next 60+ years. Championship football in a shiney new stadium or L2 football in a tatty old rugby ground? Beyond family loyalty, today's 8 year old is more likely to pick City and, as things stand, that would only get worse. This gives Rovers a chance to compete again and win the fans of the future.
The other important thing is that money doesn't garauntee success. Lansdown has now spent about £100m to get a refurbished ground and a club about ten league places above where it was when he took over.

because it sounds like the gas have been bought by rich Arabs and you ARE gutted!! You KNOW you are!!! UTG Rich Arabs who are still worth less than our very own rich bristolian According to itv they are worth over £1.4 billion now. Plus that's rising all the time by the looks of it. So not a lot in it. Will level the playing field long term.

Calm down there mate. I'm not sure they're going to be that gutted to be honest. I think both sides tend to vastly over-rate how much we actually care about each other. I'd say we both enjoy each others defeats and mishaps but can quite easily go about our lives and ignore any victories for the other club. The whole "they're obsessed with us" thing is pretty idiotic and ridiculous. No fan of any team is obsessed with any other team, we just enjoy seeing our rivals lose. Also, lets not start shopping for a new trophy cabinet just yet. They are obsessed with us,thats why their fans burnt down our stand at Twerton, thats why they attack our players. Just wait if we catch and pass them, then you will see how nasty they can be. Why are they on this forum if not obsessed with the first club in Bristol. They may not be gutted, but they are worried
