Def the winger and not striker? The striker is a permenent deal according to Clarke so would be surprised Jolley's contract is up in Jan so could potentially be the winger or striker I think. (Winger for 3 months with view to perm signing or mitually agree to cancel Newport contract to sign a 1/2 yr deal with us).

If Clarke has said he's in the market for a target man, I'd say Jolley is surely the winger. His contract being up in January also makes sense with regards to the three month loan.

If it's true I'm thinking you could be right on the 3 month loan and then sign when contract ends.. Didn't realise that, would be a good move that.

Similar to my post about Turley.
Clarke said we were waiting to see how much the loan deal would cost us and whether we could afford it.
Surely they've let us know by now.
Again, as there has been no news from the club it would seem to suggest his parent club want us to cover more of his wages than we're willing to do.
Anyone heard anything?

Maybe we are waiting for TWatola to take his shoes and socks off to help his counting of what we can afford this week.

If he did sign it would give us some pace up front - when's the last time we had a really quick striker?
White Brunt and Taylor are all good in the ball but won't beat defenders for pace which us a problem.

We wouldn't go far wrong signing James Norwood from Forest Green, not sure whether he would be within our price range though. Not sure we need a winger if we will be playing 3 at the back (as we have in pre-season)?

He will destroy defenders for pace?!

Not sure we need a winger if we will be playing 3 at the back (as we have in pre-season)? When I had the pleasure of speaking to DC at the SC EGM in June someone suggested Norwood to him. He instantly shook his head and said he is the wrong type of personality and he wouldn't have him anywhere near our squad. I'm inclined to agree given the arrogant way he led Gasheads to believing he may be signing on Twitter. He's a bit of a t*t I think.
