I wouldn't want that role. Its like going to medical school for 6 years and then specialising in protcology. Why???

Very much thinking this has fallen through now. No announcements at all and I know he was due his medical. Shame really but hey ho if hes injured hes injured. We now have 2 days left and I'm getting increasingly agitated.

We now have 2 days left and I'm getting increasingly agitated. Likewise! We cannot and must not go into this campaign with such a small squad and if he can't bolster things up by Saturday then DC must continue on the recruitment drive otherwise the inevitable injuries and suspensions will seriously bite us in the bum. Can't stand the thought of another John Ward type fiasco.

Yep the longer this goes in, the less likely it looks like it's going to happen. With personal terms already agreed, it should have been confirmed by now if the medical went alright.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Trotman instead. DC said he is back training with us and we really do still need another centre back option. Probably not in the same league as Turley from what I've seen/heard but should be good enough for this level.

We'll find out tomorrow should it still be press day on the Thursday, but my guess: Turley isn't ready and won't be signing, Trotman will and the winger terms couldn't be agreed with the parent club. Also, McNamara hinted that he thought a decision would be made on Culley on Thursday, so I reckon we'll find that out too.

My guess is that Turley WILL be signing but won't be fit for three weeks toa month.Trotman will sign a 6 month deal and the most disappointing of all will be if we STILL haven;t got a winger or a striker in.

Think positive - Once the transfer window closes all the unwanted players will be available to go out on loan.
Yeovil got to the Championship with most of the best players coming on loan.

Turley to sign but not for a few weeks. Mitchell signs 6 month contract. Jolley signs on loan for 3 months. Culley's trial ends as search for a striker continues.

I hope this goes through should be a good addition to the squad, and would be worth speculating on IMO.

Turley update on Twitter from James Mcnamara at the Bristol Post:
"Rovers closing in on Turley signing. Has x-ray later today and if given all-clear a deal would be imminent."
"One or two other clubs have shown an interest, but DC says Turley wants to play for Bristol Rovers."

Hopefully he will get the all clear and sign today. Sounds a good prospect. We could do with some pace at centre back so we can push further up a bit.

I reckon he'll be doing the 50/50 draw at the game tomorrow What a dilemma for Clarke now. A good one, I'll admit. Didn't anticipate Trotman doing so well, hopefully we tie him up to a longer deal. Also, with Leadbitter doing so well on Saturday, does Lockyer retain his right-back spot? Does he push into midfield with Mansell?

Bloody hell we've got a squad with options ! Still need another quick wide man but other than that I'm happy with what we've got.

I do wonder what the first choice defence would be. As @gashead says, I didn't expect Trotman to do this well and for me at the moment he is our first choice centre back. With Lockyer, Parkes, MMc, Trotman, Turley, Leadbitter and Brown as defenders in the squad, DC has some tough choices to make.

In Martin I think we have a real creative spark out wide, changed the game against Lincoln. Another one like that and it's looking good. I was very sceptical about the 'Brian Laws' thread the other day, but I wonder if the rumours of MMc joining the coaching staff were true? If not I worry for him re: getting games.
