For what IRS/worth, let's dissect the statement.
Contracts are in place : this does not mean they are signed In contact with lawyers daily to conclude the final contract conditions: not all is ready to sign yet, there are conditions which cannot yet be agreed When completed we can move on. This does not mean sell to Sainsburys but it doesn't mean not to either. Doesn't say the deal is off. Doesn't sound totally despondent.
That's about it.

I would suggest those comparing buying a house to this major project are way off the mark reference the contracts. Those on here with more business acumen than myself and others may well be able to provide a little more information when it comes to major project contracts and agreements. Come on GHB?

A few replies The contracts are all signed, massive amount of talk that sainburys want out and has been for some time, the board do not answer this question they just say they cant have out of the contract. I thought it was a non statement today, nothing to answer what our concern and the articles concern was. If sainsburys are trying to screw us then i dont see a logical reason to hide it from the fans ? Confidentiality clauses, which could be termed in breach of contract, assuming we have a contract!

As always the board are damned if they do & damned if they don't.
Many wanted more communication, so when the club speak out on a Sunday they are accused of rushing into making a statement.

Communication doesn't necessarily mean the truth.

Why the hell would they go through all the court cases and then try and pull out? Exactly what I was thinking. Not to mention to site will be a gold mine. Truly, truly bizarre. I would imagine at any given moment Sainsbury's Litigation has so many legal cases on the go it would make your head spin... and let's not forget the whole JR was TrasH vs BCC, Sainsbury's didn't even send a legal team to the hearing... ...they don't care about this site...they really don't...it might turnover £1M per day for them in 5 years time if it all goes through and goes well for them, or it might still be a collection of crappy terraces and dodgy grandstands turning over £100k every other week for us...but like many other companies they are nervous about future growth (especially large stores) and so are probably more than happy to get out of any existing 'watertight' contract they may have signed with BRFC...just guessing though... As always the board are damned if they do & damned if they don't. Many wanted more communication, so when the club speak out on a Sunday they are accused of rushing into making a statement. They made a statement that didn't say anything, didn't clarify most of the points in the article and yet was published on a sunday...a quick reply (and/or) rushed, yes it was...exuding confidence...not even close...

The statement said nothing. It did not deny the article and that was what we needed to hear. The fact it did not speaks volumes. A firm " no, the article hold no truth to It" was all we needed. Oi vey !!

Oi vey !! They basically said the article holds truth, so they didn't lie to us. But they also reiterated that contracts are in place that will mean Sainsburys cannot pull out. That is their battle to fight now and I very much hope they can pull off what must be the very final hurdle.

Sainsburys weren't born yesterday. If this goes head to head over a dispute, hoping and praying won't be enough imo.

But the story isn't bollocks is it. I thought it was pretty clear Sainsburies want out and have done for a while. The BOD position remains unchanged. We have a contract. End of. Whether we can hold sainsburies to that contract remains unclear, watertight or not. Can't see what else the BOD can do right now.

There is obviously something not quite right and I am not saying the story is rubbish.
Just an emphatic, the story is rubbish probably would have quelled the rumblings, but I appreciate there probably isn't much he could say right now one way or another

But if that had been said, and then in the future it came out that it was true, we'd all be raging at the board and calling them liars. If they are unable to say anything in the public domain then they really do have to be careful with their wording. I think the article gives away about as much as they can at this particular moment.

Harr, you were at the Q and A weren't you? NH has already said Sainsbury's can't get out of it, so if they happen to somehow he will look silly anyway.
I give the board the benefit of the doubt on this and just hope we can get through whatever problems there might be

haha ok then. I'll cut the grass and you can pay all the money we need to stay alive then eh... Think I could just about afford to pay 1 week of Stuart Sinclairs salary, so that's 1 player we have available for Saturday. Anyone else able to fund 1 weeks wages for the other 16+ players? Oh, and while we're at it, we could do with someone paying them for next week too....
