I would imagine there will be more teds embarrassed by this than humored. Maybe. You'd be very wrong mate. Not one single comment yet saying it was wrong.

At the end of the day, it's a war memorial and should not be touched - simple as that. My late grandad fought in the war and it makes my bloody boil to think these low life degenerate scum do not see an issue with their actions. Whether it was yesterday or today makes no real difference - it's wrong which ever way you look at it. They are absolute scum and I hope those that played a part burn in hell. It's the fact it was done today that really show their lack of human decency...every Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday I always pay my respects wherever I am and whatever I am doing. Wrong any day, but truly disgusting to do it today.

Way way way below the belt, don't get me wrong, we deserve to be laughed at etc etc but this is just distasteful and damn right disrespectful.
Showing their class once again.

Mind the Gap refers to our higher level of intelligence. They still feel inferior to us and so they should.
And they say they don't care...myth.
Disrespecting over one million deaths shows what type of people they are.

No reason to doubt it, but I will hopefully be swinging past the Mem in 30 mins to see for myself.

Absolute scumbags, as has been said any day is the wrong day to touch any war memorial wherever it is, let alone today.

Not condoning this, but these gates are the entrance to the ground and might be seen as a target for this sort of stunt and as has been said it was taken down after the photo. To be honest if it was not the where it was I could appreciate it as a clever bit of banter. Shame we could not have the plaque hung in the boardroom as a memorial to our league status and a reminder to those responsible for our demise.

Be interested to know Colin Daniel's opinion on his name being used in this way
Wonder if he's on twitter, if was me I'd want to know so I could do something about it

If the photo was taken several weeks ago why has it only just come to light. Especially considering that today is the anniversary of the start of WW1

We are fair game to be taken the p..s of and can't deny if the situation was reversed we'd be making the most of it,but shame on whoever thought that desecrating a war memorial was an appropriate way of scoring a point - no matter how bitter the rivalry.

If the photo was taken several weeks ago why has it only just come to light. Especially considering that today is the anniversary of the start of WW1 I'm guessing that it was timed to create maximum outrage from us, then the Teds will claim the moral high ground, because whilst they temporarily placed a painted plate against the Memorial, Rovers are proposing much greater, and permanent alterations?

Struggling to be that outraged by it to be honest, stick it anywhere else and I think it's actually pretty funny. Ill-timed, but there's a lot more important things going on in the world at the moment to get angry about.

one of my great grandfathers went to metsopitania (spelling), went through absolute hell at the hands of the turks only to die from wounds and be burried in iraq just before the war ended, thing is we will never again have that calibre of man and boy in this country again, that is the real tradgedy
