If you mean the consortium referred to by JTS etc, probably not. When Ali Durden reported on Points West about the Al Qadi buy out, he said there was another consortium interested. As to their identities, I imagine only a few people know for sure. If I had to guess, the registration of a company involving the name Bristol Rovers might point to Mike Turl being the ex Bristol Rovers connection and Swissgas has experience of arranging contacts etc in the states. All speculation on my part and history now anyway. I do wonder if Wael will settle for 21,700 or go straight for the second tier taking it up to 26,000. Can it literally be increased in capacity without extra PP as others have eluded to? Yes, by adding a second tier all round. You can see what Brighton did here. They had more room to expand than we would, but the principle of adding extra capacity without changing the outside lines of the stadium is the same.

Never let a good story get in the way of the facts, there were no real problems with the forum apart from comments made by 1 or 2 posters about the reason one player left the club under a cloud. The forum was needlessly just shut overnight without any prior warnings it might be closed. Never let the truth get in the way of an inaccurate statement. That is just simply not true. You could argue that I am naieve but until i read the forum I had no knowledge of the drug ketamine and specifically remember a discussion on who was taking the drug, who was supplying it and at least 3 names were mentioned. I couldnt believe the discussion that was going on in a public forum. I remember an article personally slagging off a player for reasons i will not raise again but which were libellous and Higgs himself was accused of various things. So basically you are agreeing with me it was 1 or 2 posters over stepping the mark over why one player left the club under a cloud, all the mods needed to do was delete the thread and warn/ban the posters but as with the KS ban NH got it wrong and alienated another group of fans.

Wasn't the "consortium" just fragment of somebody's imagination anyway? Perhaps we should all just pause for breath on this thread and see what Thursday brings as I assume win or lose the new owners will have to make some announcement about building the new stadium. If you mean the consortium referred to by JTS etc, probably not. When Ali Durden reported on Points West about the Al Qadi buy out, he said there was another consortium interested. As to their identities, I imagine only a few people know for sure. All speculation on my part and history now anyway. I do wonder if Wael will settle for 21,700 or go straight for the second tier taking it up to 26,000. Bluebeard BR had nothing what so ever to do with Turl, whilst Durden may have talked about the consortium but you do wonder how they hoped to compete with Al-Q's financial backing.

So now its MSP who oversaw the buy out,who is the next one to get credit ?Father Christmas I think you need to check your facts before trying to point score, as Steve Hammer's confirmed recently that MSP suggested Rovers were ripe for a takeover when Paul Scully declined any offers to sell Gillingham to Wael. Whilst they didn't over see the buy out I doubt Wael would have ever contacted NH w/o them pointing him in our direction. So now its doubt rather than certainty, interesting how views change when questions are asked about the validity of their claims

Hi they were in part my comments backed up by other forum users. They were factual and not libelous. (nothing to do with Ketamine) I was threatened with legal action at the time and as you recall never backtracked on anything I said. I asked the club about it when the forum was shut as I felt bad if in anyway my comments led to it and was told that they were not aware of my comments and it was shut in part due to rumours about administration.

Am I naive in assuming that Court of Appeal judges would not blab the verdict before the official announcement? Probably.
I think the verdict will have a big impact upon what kind of stadium we will end up with, regardless of the fact that Wael has said a stadium must and will be built. A victory tomorrow and a possible extra £30m or so would perhaps allow for the purchase of the land and a 26,000 capacity. A loss could mean something like the original plan.
I'm assuming here that if we win, which, by the way, I don't think we will, that any extra funds generated by a victory will go straight into the stadium funds.
Or is that true? If we won compensation and the funding for the UWE is already in place, could the owners use the money for training facilities and wages for next season?

Both legal teams will have been informed and they will have informed their clients, that's standard practise in any case of this nature, slightly different than a criminal court where the Defendant would only learn of their fate at the court hearing.
