Twerton for me.
Friend was a Gashead & always went on about how it was a good crack.
A 25 minute walk to Twerton. Amazing to see good quality football in a passionate atmosphere so close to me, although I had to 'give up' the most successful rugby team in England for it, so the time I was called a 'glory hunter' did rather rankle with me! A glory hunting Gashead - as if... need my head examined more like

The reason I chose blue instead of red is a bit controversial I'm afraid so my tin hat is on here goes ..... As I have mentioned before I was born in Brislington and all of my family were / are sh** heads! My mum and dad got me a half season ticket for the sh** for Christmas 97/98 season. As they were full on city fans any talk of the gas in our house would be pretty much banned !! So I attended the games with my family not really enjoying it but then everything changed one Saturday......,city were playing the gas at Ashton gate and when I saw the gas take to the pitch in the quarters and heard all of the noise that the away end were making especially goodnight Irene it quite literally sent shivers down my spine ! City won unfortunately 2-1 but from that day I never returned to that dump all I wanted to do was be a part of the gas family. When I actually told my family about how I felt about the gas my old man and my brothers went ape sh** and thought I was joking. I had to wait until I moved out to go and watch us play but it was worth the wait and it's one of the best things I have ever done! My Mrs is gas as are both my children , there is something about rovers that I can't quite explain but all I can say is I love the bloody boys in blue and white!!!! UTG ! I don't think that's controversial at all. it's an amazing story and shows not only just how fantastic the gas must be to an undecided person, but also shows your own resilience, determination and independent spirit of mind. Thanks for that! It's always been a bit of a sore subject for me personally as when I'm asked about certain players from the past i always shy away from the conversation as back in the nineties I was in the stands of the dark side! Ti this day I can not talk about football with my parents and brothers as it always ends in a blazing row!! It's ruined a few family get togethers lol

My dad was into blue films when I was young. So that's why I like blue some of the films we watched with red in them were quite frankly disgusting. What about a pinch of snuff ?

My obsession began as a lad in Weston-super-Mare, at the time I grew up on a large council estate called the Bournville in the 1970's. Believe it or not everyone was GAS, it's all changed now and there are more City fans on the estate but Weston still has quite large pockets of Rovers fans. The next door neighbour lad was a GASHEAD, and he used to babysit me. As I got older I went up on the train and got off at Stapleton Road and it just felt right.

Lived in Hartcliffe mid 60's, Dad must have won a few bob on the horses as he splashed out for the night - Mum took little bro & sister to the Odeon winterstoke road &. Dad took me and my other bro to the Crate to watch them v Brentford, must admit I loved it, the match ended 3-3. Couldn't stop talking about it, but Mum said I ought to see the Rovers, it was better there & she used to walk from Knowle to Eastville & sell tea from a hatch at the back of the Tote end. So I give it a go, took an age to get there, but well worth it, in the Tote End,at the front, about 50 yards behind the goal. Beat Carlise 5-2, Alfie Biggs scored 3 & I swear I ducked when he thudded in a header from 12 yards. I was mesmerised, never looked back. School was tough though ?

Whilst I am too young to remember Eastville I can say for sure that Twerton park (and the atmosphere there) was one of the main reasons I fell in love with Rovers.

We moved from Newcastle in 70's and as neighbour was a City fan we went there first.
I went to Newcastle from age of 3 and our family was used to passion and noise, but mainly loyalty. Although we went to Newcastle first team and reserve fixtures and I loved it, I didnt really support anyone just loved football. If anything I followed Chelsea, as friends we met at Butlins lived near their ground and it was a mental place to be back in early 70s so we went there a lot, combining visits to parents friends with Chelsea home games. But again there wasnt what I'd call support just enjoyed the match day experience at the Bridge.
At first City game we went to City drew 0-0 with Oxford (I think). As teams came off pitch, City fans were spitting at their own players. Couldn't believe it, they hadn't lost and had played ok in what was a pretty terrible game in terms of goal chances.
Dad said lets try the other club then, we went to a few pre-season games, Dad bought season tickets for the North Stand, and although he was a diehard Newcastle fan he took me every home game from age of about 10 until I was old enough to go by myself on supporters coach/ drive.
An the rest is history........

I live in Dover so unlike many others I never saw a game at eastville. When I was 5 in the cup run I came downstairs to the game being shown and all the fans were dressed up as pirates. Since then I have been Rovers

My first experience of football was a derby at ashton gate in 95 in the away end, suffice to say i was hooked. I was immensley proud to be part of something exciting and local, all my primary school mates supported each and every premiership team... Then i went to univeristy in London and everyone seemed to support Liverpool, they had just fluked the champions league, yet none were scouse... Anyway i dragged them all along to various gas away games and i think a few of them go hooked too. My boy won't really have a choice of whom he will support as he's been blooded already.

Genetic. From my dads side, who was brought up at the bottom of Muller road. Sats at grans and then a very short walk to footie in the late 70s I think and 80s. How people change sides I don't know, I could give up on it, and kind of did for awhile, but it will always be rover's or no one

Born in the city of Wells. Had no choice who to support. Taken to Eastville by Dad in about 1969 and hooked. Many happy memories of Eastville and favourite player Dick Shepperd. Living down near Yeovil now but still travelling to watch the Gas. True supporters never change colour.
