What would yours be for Saturday? I know we're expecting a couple of new faces before Saturday, but I wouldn't expect them to go straight into the team v Grimsby (plus, I'll allow you to edit your lineup as and when these players arrive) As it stands I'd go for: ______________Mildenhall_____________ ______Lockyer__McChrystal__Parkes Leadbitter______________________Brown _______Sinclair__Mansell__Monkhouse _____________Brunt___Taylor Subs: Preston, Clarke, Gosling, Harrison, White Thoughts?

I'd go for that but with Clarke instead of Mansell.

Agree with that, don't think Preston will be on the bench though

Pretty hard to disagree with that line up.

Hmmm. I know its bot what we've been going for but id be tempted to 433 it. Grimsby are weak at the back and if we can attack attack attack we might unstick them. They are strong in the middle though so maybe tge wingbacks will give us a bit more there especially if we are playing the passing game.

If we stick with the 3-5-2/5-3-2 from pre-season then I completley agree with your line up.

We played 4-3-3 for a bit towards the end of the Coventry game and looked dangerous. Created a few clear cut chances. I think we'll definitely see it at times this season. I'm still not convinced by the 3-5-2, mainly the wingbacks. I'm not sure whether Brown and Leadbitter posess the quality on the ball to be our main source of attacking width. Can't judge Leadbitter off the back of one game though so will have to wait and see.

Grimsby's suspensions, I believe, are at the CB position. 4-4-3 means one direct striker and two wingers, 3-5-2 means two strikers up against their two CB's who may not be as good as the usual first choice ones. Lets match the strikers up with their CB's and see who comes up on top, I'd be willing to bet one of the strikers gets a favourable matchup.

I think this thread goes to show how badly we need these signings really. The fact that the vast majority of us agree on the starting line up probably shows that whilst we have a decent starting XI, there is no strength in depth or many options for DC to chose.
Usually on a thread like this, there would lots of different combinations of players suggested.

Very easy job to pick a starting eleven from a squad of 15. Whites still trying to shed the pounds so that leaves 14 starters. On paper it doesnt look a bad team but can we stay injury and suspension free ?

Didn't realise you guys had Steve Mildenhall in goal. He only had one season with us but it was a fairly good season in which we lost in the League Two playoff final. So he's well thought of here despite his short stay and should get a decent reception from our lot.
