Not only top scorer in the country but I think second best goals per minutes played after Agüero. Have to take your hat off to him, quite a few, me included, were not convinced he make the step up, there is no doubt he has. Well done Matt Taylor, his attitude and application have been first class. I have no doubt the coaching staff deserve a huge pat on the back to.

Taylor - Absolutely awesome, deadly today, he looked well up for it and it's fantastic to see a striker clearly revelling in it all
Think Gaffney worked hard today and looking sharper than last couple of outings , he needs a goal soon tho , deserves one or two more for his efforts
Fair play to Lawrence, that free kick was total class,, Lockyer made all the difference today at the back , rock solid
Northampton will be thinking this week how best to keep us out AND win, their promotion might have to wait a fortnight
Come on the gas, time to make the autos our home for good

Matty Taylor gas legend, he will be on 30 plus by the end of the season and with a better team around him in league 1 he will still put em away. Top class, he isn't really missing many any more.

He's certainly surprised me! He lacked composure last season and at the start of this one. I'm assuming that Marcus Stewart has had an influence in the same way as Steve Yates has had with our defence?!
UTG!

most of us fans quite liked matty but wernt sure he could finish often enough at league level but we failed to reckon with his never give up attitude and sheer ability. well done matty and i frankly doubt we will be able to hold onto him beyond this season.

His movement off the ball today was utterly brilliant, even in the first half. He dropped off the defenders so many times. They looked bewildered when he picked the ball up nowhere near where they thought he was time after time. He must give centre half lumps nightmares! He's a very clever player and his conversion rate this season is a vast improvement on last year and he has retained his work rate. Happy days. as a muck-about lumpy-ish Centre back myself I hated these players. the ones who stick to a plan and you know what they will do always seem simple-ish to me, even if they are good at what they do or have some physical attribute that still makes your life difficult (e.g. height, pace). but the ones who run Dam everywhere are a nightmare although obviously i used experience and quick thinking to nullify them. and to fall over a lot. or punch them. one caveat i will add though is that the ones who run everywhere still need an end product. we all see lots of oppo players who do look dangerous, but the bottom line is goals and assists. Matty has this covered.

Just felt our goals would be more spread out between our strikers.

I hope he is going to stay and a new contract is in the pipeline. If he walks away for nothing we will have made a huge mistake. Hindsight is a wonderful thing! Most of us were saying the way DC has gone about restructuring the way we dish out contracts is a good thing. Who's to say if Taylor had signed a 3 year contract in the summer, he would he have been so hungry this season, with no contract to play for? If he's goes on a free in the summer then so be it, I'm just glad the days of throwing around 3 year contracts on silly money is over.

I know what you mean but perhaps it might have been sensible to extend his contract earlier in the season when it was clear he could cut the mustard at this level. I do hope he stays and things are going on in the background but if he does walk away for nothing we will have made a huge mistake. Finding a great goal scorer is not easy and i think we sometimes take them for granted when we have them but think back a few years when we had zero goal threat and struggled every year. It was painful and boring to watch. I really hope he has a contract lined up to sign with us!

I feel he would want to help DC out
