Fair enough, you'd cry with joy to get into league one, I'd cry with sorrow at losing the momentum we'd built up. Different ambitions I suppose.... No same ambitions, just that we would be laughing as you"ve spent 80million to be in the same division as rag bag rovers Yeh but that 80 million includes the cost of the new stadium, so not really fair to include that as though it was spent on transfers? Well now you've got a 'mega rich' (allegedly) owner we'll see how quickly you progress. Although, to be fair if you pull off back to back promotions it will be a very impressive achievement...

Charlton and Rotherham have found a bit of mediocre form, if the sh** got relegated and we went up I would literally cry with joy. Fair enough, you'd cry with joy to get into league one, I'd cry with sorrow at losing the momentum we'd built up. Different ambitions I suppose.... At the end of the day I'm not one of the fans who refuse to admit I look at your results, I do and I love watching you lose. Nothing would please me more than for us to engage in regular Derby matches. I suppose it would be better if they were undertaken in the championship but if we are good enough to get promoted and your lot relegated then so be it. And yeah my aspirations are to be higher than you, we have been inferior for so long. but that's not my only aspirations or main for us, I wanna see us get as high as possible. No brainer really. Isn't that what having a rivalry is all about???

I think he's blown a bit more than 40 million on the football. I think, by the end of this season, closer to 80 million.

Last season the club was in a league it didn't want to be and knew that not getting promotion could be serious for the long term condition of the club. Failure to gain promotion would have been a hammer blow. The same should be being said about this season but the fans have become used to being in league two and missing out on promotion will be disappointing but not catastrophic. There was a time when the thought of being in this division would have been seen as humiliating, embarrassing and complete failure. Times have changed....really promotion followed by an average to good league one campaign will only see the club back at its usual starting position. Its at that point we will see the club building for a better future . Where a promotion to the championship is not a short visit of struggling seasons but more like the seasons of the 1950s top ten finishes every year.....but this time sustained and improved upon (hopefully) League two is a place Bristol Rovers Football Club should never visit again. Luton Town,Portsmouth,Notts County and Plymouth Argyle should never be there also.
To infinity and beyond.....

That is a great analysis of how far the club was dragged downwards and expectations lowered. Promotion this season will see Bristol Rovers back to the situation inherited by the previous chairman.........

By all normal standards Bournemouth should be a L2/L1 club. The difference is the money invested. Look at the Premier League and Bournemouth are mid-table. Incredible. All we need is our own Eddie Howe. Which we have.
And £80M.

You already have lost that momentum, that's why you've been in a relegation scrap all season and look to survive purely because of how sh** others are, not how good you are. On the otherhand, we have took pretty much the same squad from last season and used the momentum of last season to achieve what should be at least the playoffs from here on. No one expected that.I believe with DC in charge and a bit of money being thrown at it(that feels so weird to sat)we could go at it again next season in League 1 if we get there, so it's up to your boys to sort yourself out if you don't want to be meeting us in a couple of years.

Ok, so by your logic, you are only gonna get promoted because around 20 teams are worse than you, it's not about how good you are... Brilliant!

After bottoming out near the wrong end of the conference 18 months ago, we have progressed pretty much week on week. We'd be chuffed to be back in L1 (if we can get it done this season), but we also be looking at the next step almost immediately, make no mistake about that. We have a manager who is always sees a big picture as well as using his game-by-game planning process. It has to be said you have a modicum of momentum with Junior, after Clot came to a stalling end with no plan on arrival to the Championship. This thread makes me chuckle: www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/169758-double-promotion-its-going-to-happen/&page=2the love in with cotterill evaporated pretty quickly

One tw*t in bristol are now reporting that the takeover has turned sour and that the al qadis want out! Any slightest reason to pour scorn on us and then they will, I do hope their arrogance and self righteousness comes back to haunt them, they certainly deserve it

Why can't they just pull their heads out of their arses and concentrate on their own team for once. I think you'd struggle to find any other team out of the 92 FL clubs that has so many posts/threads about a team who apparently aren't even their rivals.

It'll be the same reason why they have such a large chav element, they simply have more fans than anyone else.

You say we are only staying up because there are worse teams than us yet you are getting promoted because you are better than the others, not that they are just rubbish? No difference in my opinion...there isn't is there? If if we stay up its because we are better than the teams below us, surely you see that?! Just as if you go up its because you are better than the teams below you? Really don't get why you think it's different

If you get eaten am I faster than a lion at running? Winning something is completely different than not losing something.
