There are a thousand excuses but in reality not selling out this game is embarrasing. Really p**s poor support IMO. Maybe we haven't got as many supporters as you think !?

Think we need to get some perspective here, the last time we got 5 10k plus gates in a season was in 77 and that was in the equivalent of the championship. If we were at uwe now i'm pretty we would have had 14k last week and this week and 20k for dag. There is absolutely no comparison with what we are getting in one of the worst grounds in england and potentially what we'd get in a stadium with top class facilities. Oh and this is division 4!

Although I have the penis of a 9 yo girl. My absence is due to work commitments rather than affordability or availability of a ticket. Next time il bimble straight through.

But how are 10K more fans going to be able to afford UWE tickets, assuming we're not going to just give the extra tickets away? Go up again... Bob Jim and Dave and all their mates will go every week and claim to have been at every game for last 20 yrs More likely that Bob,Jim and Dave and all their mates and a lot more Rovers supporters on pensions or in lower paid employment would find out that they could not afford Premiership prices...their places would be taken by the prawn sandwich corporate type support initially.

All tickets gone now apparently so not p**s poor at all. Secondly what if a supporter has no money to attend the game ? It means he/ she can't go doesn't it? What about work ? What about other commitments? What about it not being pay on the day ? All these things present obstacles to these people so they can't go. I will again say I was surprised it didn't sell out quicker but it's far from being p**s poor in my opinion. I respect your view I just don't agree with it . Anyway looking forward to Saturday UTG !!!! But how are 10K more fans going to be able to afford UWE tickets, assuming we're not going to just give the extra tickets away? Totally hypothetical but food for thought; What would be better in the new Stadium 10k people at £20 or 20k people at £10 ?

Not quite the same as although your revenue would be the same your costs would be higher - 20k worth of marshals, cleaners to tidy up after the ripped up 50/50 tickets, 20k worth of police presence. Extra revenue in bars and food stalls would help out balance out to some extent though. if you can chuck on an extra few quid then that changes everything!

Yes just an extra £2 (so £12 per ticket) would add £40k of income which would cover extra staffing and police costs and still be a very attractive entrance fee

I'm not saying anything about one particular supporters inability to come, I'm saying as a fanbase overall, I am massively disappointed we couldn't sell out this game. And I really hope we did end up doing so, because I just find it a bit embarrassing that a club that so often speaks of it's amazing fanbase and potential wouldn't sell out this game. Not attacking specific people at all, but on the whole we surely must have enough fans to sell this one out!

Part of the problem is that you can't get your heart monitor through the turnstiles. That has probably knocked 1,500 off of today's gate.
I have been lucky and have managed to get a spare ticket lined up for my carer.

You are right of course , the cost would increase but I think you can see where I was going with this NB when I was an apprentice I had to sweep the stands ! not employ cleaners to do it ,how times have changed !

Don't think its part time glory hunters!!; there are loads of gas that live all over the country ( im in North Wales) so whilst going to more away games than home games have to choose which home games to go to . I'm just made up that the support is coming back as the fans are and always have been the future of this club.

I'm going to the D&R game but unfortunately can't get to the game today, although I wish I could!
I hope this doesn't make me come across as a "part-time glory hunter"?
The fact is, I do not have the money or the available time to be able to get to matches every other Saturday, so naturally I have to be a little more selective over which matches I attend. I'm sure many other fans of not only the Gas, but every other club, has this problem.
Still, regardless of this, I am still Gashead, always have been and always will be, and I still log onto the forum every day, read every article, follow every minute of every match even if I don't have the money and time to get to the game. Does that make those like me any less of a fan? This is in direct response to paulpirate by the way, not to fanboy.
