Personally I think we should have a drummer and everyone else on the Blackthorn should be issued with a kazoo. At least it would cover up the terrible singing, AND make us unique. When was the last time you heard a kazoo on the kop? Amateurs

The problem is each week we have to listen to Nick Days record collection which consist of in the main, songs to slash our wrists to. Also the run out music and the build up music is made up of hits from the 60's again probably om his collection. I'm old enough to remember when they were new. As a club we spend too much time in the past, you only have to hear comments from the terraces to realise that. I don't want to be stuck in the past any more, I want to be up to dat and I want songs that will get the crowd going. FFS lets get rid of that 40 ear old crap and put something NEW on Totally agree. Seems like we just do a run through of whatever rubbish Classic Gold have played lately. It's hardly stirring stuff. Whatever happened to the slow version of GI we used to play? Surely there's a better, slower version we could be playing? ?

Would be nice to get a decent pre-match routine started before we go to UWE. Will be embarrassing otherwise.

Not a bad example to try an emulate.............a good example of how bad the atmosphere is at all seater stadiums.

Surely if atmosphere = success then Pompey would be top of Div 2 and Accrington already relegated? As long as the Mem's not like a mogue is it really that big an issue?

The team on the pitch aside, a decent atmosphere, pre-match build up/entertainment makes people want to be a part of it and come back the following week. If it affects attendances then yes it is an issue that we get it right. But I guess the only way we'll see the whole Mem singing again is if we do a Northampton and run away with the league with no pressure.

Basically, he's a German, so if he says the game is Germany (him) v England (me) then it's no mercy. England win. The kid has to learn.

Yea, first couple of years in L2 the football was dire but we kept the atmosphere. Understandably, it petered out eventually which prompted me and others I know to stop going so regularly. It basically became a sh** experience and a waste of my valuable Saturday afternoon. Anyone who has plays sport at any level performs better with confidence. Moans, groans and abuse will make players nervous and scared of making mistakes which is bound to have an impact on performance. Encouragement and a positive partisan atmosphere can lift a team, remove the fear factor and improve performance. It's not so much that we need to sing for 90 minutes it's more to do with attitudes being contagious. No nerves, no groans and total support from the crowd tomorrow is what DC is calling for.

Encouragement and a positive atmosphere can lift a couple, remove the fear factor and improve performance. It's not so much that we need to shag for 90 minutes it's more to do with attitudes being contagious. No nerves, no groans and total support from the other half."
Fixed it for you.

Maybe......I don't think it's the standard of cometition that gets Celtic fans excited. Pop into any east end Glasgow pub they will be more than happy to explain the tribalism involved.

Absolutely, although a lot of what influences that tribalism in Scottish football (religion etc.) has always put me off to be fair. Great sets of supporters (even away from the Old Firm - Aberdeen, Hearts even Dundee United in games I've seen in the past have had good atmospheres) though, it must be said.
