Wheely would like to get this thread back on track..
MANAGER Darrell Clarke has issued a promotion charge rallying cry as Bristol Rovers prepare for their "biggest game since the play-off final" at the Memorial Stadium.
Rovers host Exeter City and will be looking re-assert some control over the race for automatic promotion after a 0-0 draw at Stevenage on Tuesday night saw them slip out of the top three and into fifth place.
They remain just one point behind Oxford United and Plymouth Argyle, who occupy third and fourth respectively, and are just two points behind second-placed Accrington Stanley with three games of the season remaining.
"Everybody says we need three wins and in an ideal world that is what we would get, but nobody can second guess what will happen over the next two weeks," Clarke said.
"While a lot of people say our rivals have probably got easier games on Saturday, the results over the last few weeks suggest that there will probably be some surprise results to come.
"There is never any room for error at any point in the season for me, but I can't stress enough the significance of this game towards what we'd like to achieve.
"No games are won on paper but we face teams in the bottom two in our last two games so that really makes the one against Exeter on Saturday absolutely huge for us.
"It is certainly our biggest game since the play-off final last year and we need everybody right behind us. If you're not usually a singer get singing and if you're a quiet fan get loud.
"We will have to be patient sometimes when we haven't got the ball so I would tell them to stick behind us at those times and to raise the roof when we have it and are on the attack.
"There will be misplaced passes and we won't always have the ball and that is when we will need you to stick with us the most.
"We might have dropped to fifth on Tuesday night, but we are only two points off second and have a better goal difference than two of the four teams still in the mix.
"As it stands I'm looking at it as a 50 per cent chance of going up with three games to go and I want everyone to come to the Memorial Stadium ready to get behind the lads come what may.
"What they have achieved so far has been amazing considering four of them had never played in the Football League prior to the start of the season.
"We are already guaranteed a play-off place with three games to spare and we are all desperate to do it automatically for ourselves and for the supporters.
"We've done it all on a mid-table budget so let's bring it all together for another massive push on Saturday."
A play-off place for Exeter City, meanwhile, is still a possibility – but they must win all of their remaining three games and rely on favours from elsewhere.
"Paul has built several fantastic Exeter City teams over the years and in his current group he has another one," Clarke said.
"He is a fantastic manager and he continues to produce excellent young players. He's taken charge of over 500 games so has seen and done it all.
"He is certainly a manager who I feel has been under-rated considering the job he has done there over the years."

Incidentally Tisdale has done a nice little pre-match interview and speaks highly of us and playing at the Mem.
Not used to listening to an interview where the manager gives so much away!!
