Lockyer Taylor Brown Leadbitter Bodin Gaffney Mansell Sinclair All must be signed up as an absolute minimum. That's not to say the other squad players haven't done well, but I feel that keeping the squad together is more important than new signings. i thought Lockyer and brown had already signed, don't want to sound rude to the players we got now but I rkn were need more than a couple of players to challenge for promotion in l1 maybe half a new side

We still have a small squad and think we need to strengthen up in keeper/defence/midfield/attack.. Mcburnie will be going back as we couldn't afford his wages, So I don't think anyone will go but definitely need to improve the squad...another 4-5 players would be good...

I'm not counting any chickens until after 5.00pm on Saturday Don't want to be boring too, but agree with his statement. Im so nervous about and can't wait for 5pm Saturday already. Im at Twickers for the rugby but don't think I'm going to be able to watch a second of the game and have my eyes fixed on my phone. Regardless of which division we're playing in next season I think we need to aim to sign the best players in Div 2 to add to those already here. As far as Lawrence DC's offer baffles me, as how can he offer him another season's contract in an higher division when he can't even get into a Div 2 side crying out for a decent left sided midfield player. You can only hope Lawrence doesn't fancy a season sat on the bench at his stage of his career and declines our offer, but that's probably just wishful thinking.

Well really we have to,i think DC will do similar to this season, most will be offered contracts and he will add where needed but i expect the new loan system will have a bearing. I do agree keeping the main squad is important but i also think our signings will be just as important though

It's a great question but I can't think of anyone other than some obvious ones that have already been named lol

No one knows what any contract offer would be though. DC could go in with a low ball offer so not to break his word, but so low no one would accept.

Krysiak the Yeovil goalie is class I reckon. Only 26 so could be a long term solution.
Wylde from Argyle gets my vote too for wingers. Looked amazing at the mem.
I like Lyle Taylor from Wimbledon as far as strikers go. Maybe Jamil Matt from Argyle. He's on loan there are the moment.
I suppose we will have access to better loan players if we go up too.

Much like Balanta and Monkhouse, just cuz we offer something doesn't mean they'll take it

Can't see why we would need to loan players if he's got money to spend, build a team that would have potential to challenge All depends on if we go up what sort of players we can get,the money is there so building a team for the championship if in l1 would be the aim

Regardless of what division we will be in, we need a bigger squad as there are no emergency loan signings next season for the football league as in line with the Premier Division

good thread had we secured promotion but we havnt so i dislike this thread very much The fact there's a play-offs thread and a 'who would you sign in L1' thread just shows our fans are too forward thinking, both optimistic and pessimistic. Bit of fun though I guess.

Going on idividual performances against us this season...
Nathan Smith - Centre Back. Yeovile - Played superbly against us home and away Ryan Harley - Midfielder - Class act against us on Saturday Josh Simpson - Midfielder - Plymouth - Ran their midfield at our place Lyle Taylor - Winger/Striker - Wombles - Very good player, but would cost £££

Sign up the best players in our squad like he is doing then make sure Leads, Manse, Bodin, Taylor are signed then.... If Taylor doesn't sign what about Matt from Fleetwood who's at Argyle at mo or possibly Matt Green from Mansfield who has done well in a team who are very defensive where he has had little support. The guy Nelson from Argyle at CH also looked good. Whatever DC does I hope he signs young players on their way up and not older players looking for a contract. Exeter seem to produce good technical players, Watkins, Harley, Taylor with a good attitude so looking in that direction might be profitable but whatever DC does I hope he ensures as we did this year that the players coming in fit well into the squad character-wise. UTG!

Would you rather we went back to offering players 3 year contracts on silly wages or give players a contract with a option of an extra year if we get promoted? It's incentive based, it makes the players want to play well and it doesn't mean the next contract offer is going to be on the same or better terms if DC doesn't rate the player too much. Really not sure what's so baffling about it.

Harley maybe OK if we're still in Div 2 next season but surely we need better if we want to challenge in Div 1, should we go up, next season
