Oldie can be a miserable bugger regardless of what forum he posts on! As long as everyone is civil, respectful and threads don't degenerate into dumb ass tit for tat spats it's all good. Yeah Phil See. And dont forget to add vat. Phil you want to invite this geezer to the round table, he would fit in fine!

In all honesty Gould was a terrible TV presenter when he was with it enough to know what was actually going on around him - he needed to talk about something as he knows very little about our team or the league we are playing in, and is clearly too slow these days to bs his way through things like he did in the past. Still guess he got a nice fee. As I wasn't watching said show, was the comment "tongue in cheek"?

After doing a little research it seems that grass does in fact grow overnight.
In the daytime grass uses the sun's rays to store energy. At night it uses that energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into sugars, which it uses as food and actually grows MOST just before dawn.
Apparently grass can grow up to 15cms in a week. It could therefore grow 2cm in a 24hr period and most of that 2cm would be overnight.
Perhaps some posters should not have been so quick to ridicule the groundsman and use this as yet another stick to beat the club with.

Oldie, we are a mixture of blue tinters, miserable sods, happy go lucky Gasheads. We meet on Saturdays after the game in the supporters bar at the mushroom (or round table). The mickey taking is merciless as dmacca will admit, you are welcome to join us but will need to be able to accept we are what we are!

I was down at my allotment today (shut it Phil, but ammunition if you ever needed any) and I swear my Berlotti Beans had grown a couple of inches overnight, honest. As for me marrows, nuff said. Pumpkins? At least 2ft in diameter already Mind you I was using the Hengrove Comprehensive interpretation of 2 pie R, but with a burnt pasty. Wheres me poster, and who will be at the away end bar at Barnet? I will have a yellow courgette in me pocket as ID.
