Probably late on this but I'm not arsed about reading through all those pages, this is from the statement on the site;
"It must be said that both Leeds United and Bristol Rovers have conducted business this week in an exemplary manner and every aspect of the approach from the Championship side has been made in the correct manner."
I feel the general consensus from other football fans contradicts this.. ha

Tonight was meant to be a quiet one for me, kickstart the bank holiday with a couple of beers watching England. DC ruined that, but it's great. What a man! UTG

Would be great to get Leeds in League Cup and knock them out So chuffed DC stayed with us we are gonna be a bloody force going forward can't wait. It just goes to show what a proper BOD and a bit of financial clout can do my mind keeps going back to the Manse Penalty and getting straight back up where would we be now!, Enjoy your Stag and Wedding day DC see you pre season # UTG I still consider that to be the most important goal in Rovers' history!

So we were told 4 bits of info. Leeds had asked permission to speak to DC, we said no unless they meet our conditions, we then offered a 3 year contract and DC signed. No need to panic, sounds as if from clubs position it went very smoothly albeit a bit rushed when Leeds started the ball rolling. I look forward to much eating of humble pie or re-writing of what some posters actually meant. Perhaps in future it might be good to wait for firm information and not go off on one like some have. I for one am delighted Wael and his associates are running our club. Onwards and upwards. UTG! Did I miss something? I'm certain that those (including me) who expressed frustration at the thought of DC leaving did explain their viewpoint. I didn't see one post slagging him off or that was critical of his potential departure that wasn't tempered with the caveat that they wanted him to stay, that he was a brilliant manager. My own frustrations were focused on what might have happened and I'm delighted that I got myself in a tizz over nothing. A thread about what manager and player you were most upset about about losing says everything. Supporters get down when they see the chance for the club to progress pushed back when assets leave. In times past its been inevitable, hopefully this shows its no longer the case. I couldn't be happier not to have my frustrations come to fruition. Well done for having absolute faith in everything. I've seen too much go wrong for BRFC to be that sure so quickly. Utg. Some seemed to have decided that just the thought, or not, that he was considering the Leeds job made him an anti-Christ!

I've seen too much go wrong for BRFC to be that sure so quickly. Utg. I don't think I disagree with much of this and I don't have absolute faith but I will always wait until there is something factual and real to complain against. But I also don't have any faith in rumour or people Itk. I've been following Rovers since the mid 60s and I've also seen my share of things going wrong as well. It's fair enough that you disagree with me but there have been a number of posts implying DC was desperate to leave, didn't get on with the owners, players weren't going to sign contracts and other implications questioning his character. And all this was based on Leeds asking permission to talk to him, something the BOD said no to. What is that about? Loads of people jumped to conclusions, thought the worst and questioned the guys credibility. Of course they wanted him to stay and would have been upset if he had gone but the posts tipped into the personal and was based on very little. Just because supporters get down shouldn't mean people questioning the guy's loyalty and commitment which has been shown over the past 2 years. My point was that more patience was needed, people need to wait for some facts. Even had he gone to Leeds what a great 2 years we've had! The guy owes us nothing. Had we known 2 years ago that we would be here now, we would have jumped at it. Wouldn't we? I guess in the end we are all happy gasheads and that is great. UTG! This. Great post.

DC stated. "I appreciate each and every message of support I have received and I can’t thank the Bristol Rovers supporters enough for their backing. pause... Accept Chippenhamgas". For PR reasons last 4 words were removed from release *except Error now corrected, your now the exception. Accept and except always gets me!!

In an age when the term legend is bandied around far too easily, the fact that he gave 50 years of service to Rovers makes him very deserving of that status.

All I can say is that if DC does decide to accept the Leeds job then as far as I am concerned he can F@ck off and good riddance. He said he would stay until he had established us in a top 10 position in League 1 and that we could hold him to that. He made that pledge when the club didn't have 2 pennies to rub together. The club is now a totally different proposition, there is money and hopefully a new stadium to come. He has just been offered a 3 year contract FFS. All his bowing to the crowd, getting watered with the fans and singing promotion songs, what was that for? If he goes, F!!! Him. I hope he gets all he deserves. Let's hope the owner/chairman can find the right replacement End of rant. Aren't we all happy DC has stayed and committed his future the gas, let's hope he doesn't see this post in the future and exactly what the post is saying.

Had DC have left, there would have been a mixture of emotions and this post wouldn't have been alone. It was pre-emptive but not as offensive as some of the replies suggest. DC would hardly mind would he?! He would expect some stick amongst the well wishes.
