A good England performance ,just let down by some poor finishing and a mismatch in a challenge in the air. Russia looked a lot poorer than I thought they would be. A victory against Slovakia should be enough to qualify and anything else picked up against wales will guarantee qualification. A minor setback but nothing to be concerned about You are more positive than me after that! Russia were rubbish and we still couldn't score in open play. Any of the decent teams will have this lot for breakfast if we play like that. Defence still a concern for mine as well. Still one point better than none. Just all feels so familiar! Take the last few minutes out and England passed well, closed down well and limited Russia to very little. Rooney played well first half but second half Russia changed their play to take his influence out of the game.joe hart nearly blew it right at the end but that would have been too harsh on England. The fans created a good atmosphere . I expect everyone to go overboard on doom and gloom but thats football.

Anyone know why Kane takes all the corners? Same reason Lines does for us.

I must say, those England supporters sitting quietly in that café bar having a bite to eat fully deserved the grenade thrown at them and what followed. just like the England fans brutally attacked and robbed after being targeted by the Russians. But feel free to highlight the chair throwing competition and those that defended themselves and not running. Did you see what happened to those who ran? They did not deserve that. Innocent people are paying the price for what used to happen 15 years ago. So your ignorant opinion is 15 years out of date buddy. Laughable. Get in the real world. & anyway, the French police are known to be more aggressive - fans should know this. I think it's you who needs a reality check. Where were the French police when the Russians done what they promised to do? After the game where were the French police when the Russians went into the England end starting trouble AGAIN? Get real Bluegas. The French police have let trouble happen for a reason. The trouble is it's mainly innocent people getting hurt and robbed and not the chair throwers.

They were outside standing up, chanting death to ISIS, to antagonise the local Algerian population. It's all on YouTube. Just maybe 100 of them. I'm sure the other 19,800 were actually doing what you say. Decent people following their national team. The few ruin the reputation of the many. Can I please join Hugo on your hitlist? Please forgive my ignorance, but would you be so kind to explain to me why would chanting "Death to ISIS" as infantile as it might sound, antagonise the local Algerian population? Oh........unless of course......UTG!

Does anyone think we could get kicked out because of the violence? Its an embarrassment and Russia shouldn't even be in the euros.

I missed a bit of the first half so maybe we were better at that point, though of course we didn't score. Thought Russia dominated the first 20 minutes of the second half and we were poor. Came into the game a bit after that and had a few half chances. Shame Rooney scuffed his shot in one of our only real chances in open play in the second half - keeper made a good save but should have been buried with the whole goal to aim for from the edge of the box. That said I quite liked Rooney in that midfield role - he is one of the few players we have with a genuine quality touch and some vision going forward. Lost count of the number of times we raced forward only to give it away with a poor touch or turn back and wait for support because we didn't have the confidence or ability to take on the defence. We all see it differently of course but that was my take on it. Pretty sure we'll lose to Wales which leaves Slovakia as a must win game to try and get us an extra game in this tournament.

Go and wash your mouth out. I can assure you they won't be cheering us on. So? Who gives a f**k? That is because we are like the big brother to them whereas they are more like a little sister to us. I don't get why some of our fans hate them in football terms? Best of luck to them, the Welsh deserve a run in a major football competition. Each to their own. No chance I would support Wales in anything they do. They Dam hate us so why on earth you'd still take interest in them I've no idea.

I don't get the love in from English people to the other British countries as they really don't like us.

Out of curiosity, why are you pretty certain we'll lose to Wales? I watched their game against Slovakia and they weren't all that! If we continue to play like we did first half, but add that bit of end product we'll do alright, I'm sure of that!

Oh........unless of course......UTG! It's a bit like a load of Algerians coming to Bristol and shouting "death to UKIP". You might not love UKIP but you don't want the Algerians here stirring up trouble. Which, of course, is exactly what the English professional yobs wanted to achieve.

I think we will lose to them because we are over-confident, over-rated and because they will really want to win this and will play above themselves. The number of people taking the Wales game for granted is crazy. Every tournament we talk ourselves up and every tournament we get our pants pulled down. And Gareth Bale running at our defence is also not going to be pretty. Hope I'm wrong of course. Would love to beat them but they will be well up for this.

That's like big, manly & macho? Grow up....oh, sorry, no, of course - it's generally older guys who ought to know better.

Same old England ! Nothing changes, yeah they had some decent chances and passed the ball well but let's be honest that was an extremely weak Russia side. Still think we will beat Wales as what I've seen from them isn't very frightening either.

How can the fans expect the players to go into a tournament with a winning mentality when the fans are setting themselves up for defeat before a ball is even kicked. I don't think that we're over confident or over rated. In fact, this group has had far less hype leading up to this than previous years. Bale and maybe Ramsey excluded, we are far better than them man for man and if we go into Thursday's game with a positive attitude and play to our ability, we will win.

Jesus, Wales hyped up much??!!
They're w**k!
If you could sum up Wales, it would be Robson-Kanu's finish.

Well I hope you are right mate. But we've all seen England stuff it up too many times for me to believe in them any more personally. We've spudded it up against many teams in major tournaments who 'on paper' and 'man for man' were far inferior to us so pretty sure that counts for nothing right now. Today's result does nothing to convince me otherwise either. I really hope we go out and stuff the Welsh but lets see who brings their A-game and lets see who goes into their shell on the night. Would be nice to comfortably qualify for the latter rounds before we end up in a nail-biting final group game wouldn't it?

We'll qualify from the group and get knocked out against the first decent side we come up against. I'm enjoying the tournament as a football fan but im not getting carried away with England , far from it. To play so well against a crap side in the first half and create so many chances and not come away with a win sums England up. Russia had one half chance and they took it.

Interesting to see all these images of the Russians giving it large wearing their fanny packs.
