Anyone know when the Fun Day will be and when we will get a chance to see, or buy the new shirts?

My kids love the fun day , I must admit I do too! Always the first sign that the season is just round the corner. Say what you want about the old regime but besides the lack of shirts for kids last year , it's always been a bloody good day out and a great chance for the young'uns to get to meet the players for autographs and pictures. I will never forget when we met DC for the first time I had the two kids with me and my eldest ( he's only 12) approached DC and he asked him if he thought he could get us promoted from the conference at the first attempt, DC knelt down and looked my lad right in the eye and said " I don't think it , I know it ! " to this day my lad has never forgotten that and he is my sons absolute idol. At the time I thought it was a bit of an over the top thing to say to a young boy, boy was I wrong!!!!

The Bristol Rovers Football Club Open Day will take place at the Memorial Stadium on Monday 1st August 2016, from 12.00 noon to 4.00pm. It's been very difficult to arrange this year's event, given the number of pre-season games, the change to a new kit supplier and the fact that the squad are spending a week at a training camp in Spain. We appreciate that holding the event on a weekday means that not all of our supporters will be able to attend, but hope that they appreciate the reasons why it's one of the few days on which it could be held. The event is free to attend and among the attractions and types of entertainment confirmed are: Fans' first opportunity to purchase the new season's kit Meet Manager Darrell Clarke and his first team squad. Behind-the-scenes tours of the dressing room Face painting BBQ Raffle for a signed shirt Open Day Schedule: 11.00am Shirt sponsor player handover (DriBuild suite) 12.00noon Official opening 12.15pm onwards Dressing Room tours 12.15pm - 3.00pm Player autographs 2.30pm Raffle draw for shirt 3.00pm Players depart 4.00pm Event closes Please note that the Club Shop at The Memorial Stadium will be open from 9.00am - 5.00pm Read more at www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/rovers-2016-fun-day-date-announced-3171258.aspx#mKEfDVqikgHXeAds.99

Fun day Monday 1st August. Noon until 4pm! Very dissapointing that the new shirts aren't available until after the Sabadell trip.

very disappointing that the Fun Day is held 11am - 4pm during a working week. Not sure how many will turn up. Less a months weeks notice is not good either.
Strange time for the sponsors event as well 11am? If you were an individual sponsor how can you arrange time off at short notice and if you are a company sponsor perhaps you already have meetings or deadlines to make, so you won't be able to attend?
no doubt shirt sales and bar sales will be very much reduced compared to previous years - even when raining. Does raise the question why it could not be held from say 3 - 8pm with the kids stuff between 3-6 and the sponsors and 6-7 and the players could mingle in the bars with adults 7-8pm? Would seem much more logical to me.
This is not just me selfishly thinking I can't go, but the club won't make anywhere as much money as in the past. That sais it would be good for kids on their school hols though (if their parents haven't already booked any holidays).

Strange. It absolutely has to be on a weekend. If not then surely not at time when most are at work, why not do a 3-7pm open day, plus as the other post suggested it's annoying new shirts can't be purchased until after the CE Sabadell tour.

Fairly sure I have a cough coming on. I'll soldier on a couple of weeks but if it's not gone by the end of the month....

Gutted by this but at least it's in the school holidays so kids can go. Was hoping to have a look around to see if any changes had been made too.

I'm assuming they were verging on cancelling it, but felt they couldn't after the "What no Bus parade after finishing Third" uproar.
I have no chance of getting there sadly

Surely the fun day is aimed at kids anyway and the kids are off school and assumably not home alone so many will go.
