I don't know about anyone else, but I'm growing a little weary of our esteemed chairmans apparent need to voice his opinion on every current news worthy topic. Only last week he published a completely pointless O.F release on BREXIT's affect on Rovers, There didn't in fact appear to be any, and today he can be read in the Evil Post pontificating on Roy Hudson as England manager, criticising him for being negative and giving his opinion on who should be appointed next. I don't suppose poor old Roy has read it, but he could be forgiven for giving his views on Mr Hamer's less than glittering career as Swansea manager. It can surely be only a matter of time until we are treated to his views on who should replace Cameron as PM, and how the BREXIT negotiations are conducted. I am certain that he Parliamentary Labour Party are seeking his advice regarding Jeremy Corbin, perhaps even soliciting his availability for the position, alongside his chairmanship of Rovers. He certainly isn't slow in coming forward in the media, and I for one would prefer if he kept his views to himself on anything that is unrelated to Rovers, with the caveat that he only goes on Subs Bench etc when he's actually got something to tell us. I haven't botherd to look, but it can only be a matter of time before the p1ss takers on One Turd notice his taste for the limelight and start adding pages to their obsessive thread. Perhaps Wael could supply Hamer wil a role of gaffer tape together with some instructions on how to use it.

Really, FFS, dammed if you do, dammed if you don't; people moaned when Higgsie said nothing, Hamer IMO is tremendous, engaging, open and will give you an answer. Enough said LOL. UTG

SH appears to like talking to the press unlike NH who gave the impression he hated the press, I know which approach I prefer as whilst some times what he says is slightly irrelevant at least he's told us about the Mem developments, the new kit suppliers in just the last week under NH we'd probably still be guessing until the Open Day what was going on!

Hamer and Martin O'Neill have been friends for years so I suppose it's not surprising that he plugs him for it.
I prefer to only hear him in a Rovers context, but next time you hear him on radio or see him on TV, if you can ring in, ask who is setting the questions, and why. Then pertinent questions are on the lines of:-
Will UWE let us buy the freehold Will funds be available should DC say he would like to buy x,y or z. Where are we in terms of getting a training ground Will there be a meeting between the S/Club and the Chairman to clarify the best way for them to promote the club from here on in. When is the fun day When will we hold an open Q & A session Etc etc etc

It does seem like we've heard a lot from SH recently and some of it not immediately Rovers related.
However I'll take the new SH communication over the black out under the old regime!

I feel 70% sure that Hamer played non-league with Roy in London back in there day, think this was from an interview with him in the Post after he first came in..?

I've seen you hint at this on a couple of threads now, is this something you know to be true or are you just dicking about? Just a very large Gut feeling, nothing more and boy - have you got a large gut!

When all we have to moan about is the Chairman talking non football then this must be great times for Bristol Rovers. Anyway Oldman if you don't like it then don't read it...Simples!

Sometimes I do come on this forum and wonder what are some people. The bloke can talk as much as he like, he's answered questions he's probably been asked and also been honest. Couldn't make it up.

Two weeks ago he said a statement about the UWE was immanent. He needs to say what he can prove, or IS going to happen nothing more.

Then we got a statement the following Monday, whilst it was probably less than we hoped for it was still a statement?

Man has an opinion. Man gets asked for his opinion and gives it. I don't get the problem? Be careful what you wish for, as you could end up with the boring, cagey, quotes you normally hear from those in football. I'm not saying I'm a big fan of Hamer. It's hard to make a judgement on him yet, but I certainly don't think he deserves being damned for this. Fine if he is asked his polictical opinion, but to use his position as chairman to spout his polictical views without being asked is wrong. All I want to hear from him is Rovers related news Every time he appears in the media no matter what he says he is putting Rovers in the public eye - any publicity is good publicity - a well known statement and it is very true.

Do you know something we don't or are you being typically juvinile I know nothing, like everyone else on this forum, clearly. My juvenile reply was fitting imo. I actually agree with the notion that many of SHs media appearances thus far have spawned zilch.

I take it that by "Oldman" you are referring to me. I do wonder how you are going to like an article until you've read it. Care to enlighten?

I actually agree with the notion that many of SHs media appearances thus far have spawned zilch. Have they though? Yes his statement on the uwe was disappointing but most of his media appearances have been informative and have told us what we want to hear. Give him a little bit of time and I'm sure that he will deliver the news that we've all been waiting for.
