Great news that he has signed. He was a much improved player last year and the gap between league 1 and 2 isn't that great so hopefully he can repeat last year's goal tally!

If he continues to score, all will be forgiven and bygones will be bygones. If he has a barren spell, he might need some earplugs.

he took a while to make a decision, but hardly a cause for any ill feeling....

Welcome back Matty!
Maybe he did train with Oxford and that's what made his mind up - perhaps he realised that the grass isn't always greener?

Agreed, if Taylor had said he wanted to leave Rovers for bigger and better things then ended up signing a new contract with us he would be slated. Couldn't win.

Glad he is back, suspect if he scores a hatful in the first 20 games he will be on his way for a good sum

Really pleased with this! DC was sure he'd lost him or was that mind games... Just need one or two more and we are ready for action!

No sour grapes, from the numbers bein floated about it would have been a very expensive deal. Free agent or not. Hefty signing on fee plus basic wage would have smashed our structure. For the record that's around 2500 -3000 a week with Nelson and Maguire picking that up. He was training at Bisham Abbey. Didn't go on tour as the deal would have been made public which nether the player or club wanted at that stage, why, who knows. But be sure he was 100% training with us. You say you didn't up your offer. Well I'm pretty sure you must have given the package we were meant to have put to him. Guess we will never know for sure. From our end it was said that he was training with a personal trainer. I'm surprised that he was actually in training with Oxford, but he was a free agent after all. It was previously reported that Rovers had made an offer and asked for the opportunity to match any reasonable offer, so there may have been some shuttling back and for.

Thank **** that saga is over; must admit I am really happy he eventually decided to resign for BRFC, most of our past players have taken the higher money elsewhere, full respect to Matty. Utg

I agree with you , he also apologised for the length of time that it's taken, you can't really ask for more than that.
