What would your lineup be for Altrincham away on Saturday?
I'd go back to 3-5-2 (which I thought looked solid against Grimsby) until we sign an out-and-out winger and go with:
____________Mildenhall________ ____Lockyer_McChrystal_Parkes Leadbitter_Mansell__Sinclair_Brown _____________Gosling________ ___________Brunt___Taylor____
And, injuries permitting, I'd stick with that lineup for a decent run of games.

Exactly the same for me.
Anyone know if Mildenhall is expected back?

Agree with this line up, Monkhouse looks poor so far and as much as I dislike 5-3-2 we got torn apart when we changed.

4-4-2 for me but play the right players.
Mildenhall
Leadbitter Lockyer Parkes Brown
Goddard Sinclair Mansell Monkhouse
Taylor White
However in all honesty Higgs and DC MUST get their fingers out and ensure we have a new winger and striker. The time is well past the talking which DC has done too much of. Too many triallists for me as a Manager should know his players without the need for trials and initially he was going to be signing two or three of them and we ended up with..... NIL. I will back Dc for 10 games but he needs to up the anti and that means get some decent quality in and if he is not capable of doing that then he should give the job to somebody who can.

He got released at the end of last season. I guess you mean Gosling.

Brunt has to play. We are committed to long ball so he has to compete. I admit now it was Harrolds fault, making us play that way. The 2 others will have to feed off scraps.

The sooner we can get Turley on board the better. We are so pedestrian at the back it is untrue. If he had been playing last night my betting is that he would have caught Akinde and got a tackle in.

I was only sayig last week how slow we are at the back and got told I was talking rubbish (or words to that effect).

I would go with exactly this. I liked the 3-5-2/5-3-2 we played against Grimsby and we looked solid. With Gosling in for Monkhouse, who hasn't really impressed so far, that should also offer us enough going forward with a bit of pace through him and Taylor.

Brown and Leadbitter had next to no attacking threat at Grimsby so we nees to focus all week in training on getting them high up the pitch and crossing good balls in.

Being a defender, Brown has no attacking intent. He got quite a lot of ball on Tues, he isn't that slow, but when he had opposition in front of him he would lay it back rather than attempt to go past him every time.

I'm not slating DC but some people think he is a good manager because he doesn't play players out of position. I would suggest playing a full back as a wing back IS playing a player out of position. They are 2 very different roles.

Another issue he has is we have lots of players needing match fitness and sharpness. Brunt, White, Monkhouse, Leadbitter, Trottman. It is going to take some time for these guys to get up to speed. Another poor pre season.

Personally thought Brown had a very good game at Barnet, particularily the second half.

Wouldn't disagree with that. Taylor has been the brightest of our players in the first two Games. White doesn't seem like a player who can create his own chances, so I'd bring him on later. Brunt gives us that physical presence we lacked on Tuesday, but it's vital that he starts winning headers. I'd also start Gosling ahead of Monkhouse, who has looked like a spare part so far - Maybe he can be more of a threat off the bench. This is a fair amount of change without tinkering too much.

I the dilemma is do we go 5-3-2 and risk not scoring again in a system void of creativity or go 4-4-2 and look vulnerable in defence. Tough call
