I was there today and I can conform that both the south and south west stands are TENTS . I thought that the south stand was going to have cladding as per the OS but no they are TENTS. I am very disappointed to the level that I feel intense about being in tents

I was hoping for more perm looking walls/roof like other clubs temporary stands but it seems it's camping again at the south end of the ground....still we will probably keep hold of the cup awarded to the worst seated stand in the football league :-D

Agree re the South Stand. The article clearly said it would have new roofing and flooring. Nothing was said about the standard of the SW Stand though.

Nothing was said about the standard of the SW Stand though. perhaps it wasn't allowed as a result of the safety meeting, don't know why the club announced it before the meeting. It's not a huge problem as we will hopefully be in a new stadium within the next three years, it would be nice for the club to issue some clarification on what improvements actually did occur.

Yes, but new roofing doesn't mean new style of roofing, does it?

I think we may struggle with that time scale.

The roof has been renewed with the same type of material as before.

Let's just hope this is all means to an end. The BoD are saying we are getting a new stadium, so these temporary measures are just that. A few years ago Brighton were at that dreadful running track ground, uncovered on all sides bar the naff little grandstand. They waited ages for falmer and probably thought it would never happen.
We've only been waiting for a new ground for 30 years, so let's show a little patience eh?

The time to worry is when they start putting permanent stands up at the Mem.

I agree the club need to make improvements at the MEM to accommodate the bigger crowds in the higher division the fact they are keeping the cost down is a positive sign as the plan is not to be there too long!!

They've also taken the netting down from above and behind the South Stand. Shows confidence in the accuracy of our shooting this season!
