Welcome to Gaschat from a fellow Patchwegian. There's some twisted gasheads on here, but their hearts are in the right place.

Welcome Mar.
Always remember the three rules on here:
Make stuff up.
Panic after one defeat.
Be rude.

My username actually comes from Ian Holloway's description of Mickey Barrett - "Every pass was a curlywurly one"

Welcome Friend
The rules are there are No rules but don't be individual with your opinion as that is not allowed. We must blame everyone including the kit man for a defeat and do not except a victory without tearing the Teams performance to shreds.....
You may just fit in!

Here's a chap, an exiled bristolian, joining our merry band on Gaschat and immediately people are slagging him off, calling him a sh*thead, blaming him for our first defeat.... they're not? Oh right.... well I'll start, it's your fault when we lose.

FairPlay , you got a few years on me though bud ! back in the late 90's I used to work for a company called tyrebatt on Concorde road patchway trading estate , used to finish work at 12:30pm every Saturday then head to the Brit for the rest of the day. I was only sixteen when I started drinking in there so I remember going in but I never remembered how I got home!!! One of my favourite pubs that, devastated when it got knocked Down !

The Brit got a drastic refurb in about '86 then stayed the same until it closed. I'm actually glad I had moved on long before the end. Great memories ,we had a big group of mates who used to drink in there. Happy days.

Attachment DeletedFrom time to time it used to get a bit "Wild West" , usually when the Landlord was on holiday. Remember the Relief Manager baracading himself upstairs, when a couple of nutters jumped the bar and started serving up free ones. Cheers then. It didn't end well ,with a few of the boys doing time in the Big house.

It didn't end well ,with a few of the boys doing time in the Big house. Funny you should mention that, we were all sat having a few pints a few days before Christmas one night , then all of a sudden the main bar doors flew open and these three guys came falling in quite literally beating the sh** out of each other. Glasses and ashtrays were being thrown everywhere then the landlord came down ( Barry I think his name was big fat Welsh bloke ) with a bat smacked one of them round the knee cap picked him up and chucked him out , the other two just got up and legged it . The best thing was that you could tell who the locals were as they never batted a bloody eyelid and just said it was an ordinary night in the Brit . Ah they were the days !
