please post it on here in graphic detail, and we can all destroy you blaming you for that, the state of the economy and the traffic around Bristol, seriously this certain derision against certain players is distasteful, Mildy never due a Bruce Grobelaar and throw it in his net, he had no support from the players putting in challenges and they were all culpable, we probably do need a new keeper but who is at blame for that certainly not Mildy. From experience people who do not make mistakes do F""" all at work, rant over!

Time to move on with this Mildy love in or time for Gasheads to stop needlessly kncoking players on the forum/FB etc and actually support them, fans talk about the Twerton spirit has being great but did we single out players then as a target for criticism?

Andy "Fat Bast**d" Lewellyn! And David Smith - oh and Bob Taylor!. I was never sure if "whoosh" every time Nicky Tanner kicked the ball was affectionate or critical!

Mildenhall brings a lot to the table he might not be the quickest at getting down these days but he has still has a lot to offer, if he did have a all round game in terms of distribution, reactions, commanding area etc he would be in the premier league playing.
I'm sure most goalkeepers outside the top division have there faults.
Hes got my support and I am confident about him being between the sticks.

We cannot go on with Mildy without looking to the future. How slow will he be in 2025?

It's amazing, because if it was Puddy no one would be creating threads like this and would instead be creating threads demanding us to get rid.

I've not seen any needless knocking, as you call it, but justified observations. Everyone knows what a great player he's been for the club, but all players need to be kept on their toes and criticism comes with the territory. It doesn't mean fans don't support the players. Defensive errors led to all three goals, but the last two were saveable. I see nothing wrong with debating that, he'll know it himself. Other teams will too and will put it low and hard in the corners whenever possible. The team is crying out for a holding midfielder to shut up shop before it gets that far.

For me, Puddy's not good enough to be pushing Mildy for his place and we should of brought in a younger keeper in preseason to compete with him.
If Mildy does have a shaky start it puts us back into the same situation as last year of DC having to bring a player that hasn't trained or had the time to get to know the defence/team.

I don't think either is the answer long term, but the idea that 1) there's a big Mildenhall love in and 2) Puddy is some kind of victim, is crazy. The aftermath of Saturday tells me that people were waiting in the wings to criticise Mildenhall. I'm comfortable with criticising players if they've made a mistake but the truth is none of those goals on Saturday were Mildenhall's fault. Poor defensive headers for the first, freedom of Scunthorpe for the second, one on one which many keepers wouldn't have saved for the third. He started poorly last year and deserved to be dropped, but then he rightly earned his place back in the second half of the season. There was a few posts along the lines of 'he's 38, he needs to go!!!!' which seems pre-meditated to me. I'm willing to give the bloke more than 90 minutes to keep his place, even if we bring another keeper in.

Puddy will do just fine when he gets his chance, which will be very soon

The operative word "if". I didn't think it was Mildy shaky on Saturday. Why not crucify Matty for not scoring more goals?

Puddy will do just fine when he gets his chance, which will be very soon I hope not. He almost gave he a heart attack at Wembley. I never feel confident with him in between the sticks. We need a new keeper end of.

He is brilliant and never lets the team down.

Yes the defending was poor but Mildy didn't do his job either and has to take some of the blame. There is very much a Mildy love in and Puddy who never even got a chance in League 2 when fully fit yet alone League 1 would be getting a tonne of abuse if he was in goal Saturday. Mildy was great last season when he returned to form, but he was also poor in the Conference and Puddy came in and offered something different and was far better than Mildy was that year. DC brought Puddy in and whether he decides to play him or not, I'm behind the decision. But people have a dig at others for blaming Mildy and they are the same people who blame Puddy for NOT costing us promotion at Wembley and who throw up a sh** storm if he gets near the starting 11.

There would be a sensible and reasonable discussion about a) how to rectify the mistake b) how to stop it happening again. That discussion may also cover such things as a) do we have the correct / enough resources b) are those resources (people) in the best role.
You wouldn't see what happens on here that just because you've questioned the team selection you are somehow disagreeing or undermining DC. And certainly if I agreed with my manager (ie we need 2 or 3 new players) he wouldn't start attacking me for agreeing with him but hey that's what a lot of people were doing on the last match thread.
