As someone that lives some distance from Bristol, I frequently watch away games in with the home fans when it's not possible to get an away ticket. This is normally fine although I tend to keep my mouth shut and curb the celebrations a bit when we score. However, it is not that much fun as a result, as there is nothing in life better than being amongst hundreds/thousands of gasheads. As an ex pat (from Bristol that is), I feel a sense of warmth and camaraderie that I don't get anywhere else when I am with fellow gasheads and watching the game amongst home fans just does not cut it. Last season, my son and I went in with the home fans at Wimbledon and whilst it was not particularly scary, four or five people behind us spent the whole game cursing Rovers for, as they saw it, conning the ref and constantly diving. I was bursting to have a discussion with them on this as it was so biased but I thought it might be better to just tolerate it. It was a poor game anyway. My son and I are keen to go to Chelsea but again, it looks like the only option is to get tickets in home areas- I do have a postcode which will allow me to do this but I don't think I could stomach spending the whole game wishing I was with the 4k making all the noise! As my son was born in London, I took him to a Chelsea game when he was five as he had a liking for them (since then, he has seen the error of his ways and was converted to Gas when I took him to a defeat at Watford about fifteen years ago). The game was against Man United so I did expect some noise and atmosphere- I was wrong, it was dead and Chelsea fans around me spent the whole game cursing their team. I also noticed how many people speaking other languages there were, tourists buying a ticket for a performance (they didn't get one) like going to the theatre. The whole experience cost me £100 and left me feeling so glad that my dad took me to Rovers in 1970 and not anywhere else.
Is anyone else considering going in with the home fans? It is frustrating that we cant take as many as we could sell. Maybe next year, I will buy a season ticket although due to where I live , I couldn't get to that many games comfortably. Some are questioning why the interest/demand for this game as after all, its only some Mickey Mouse cup. However, I love being in with thousands of gas, especially away, just like Fulham a few years ago and would not miss that opportunity for the world. Let's face it, we are not going because we are thinking we can either win on the night or the cup itself are we.

It'll be pretty disappointing now if Chelsea do restrict us to just 4,000 tickets in a 41K capacity stadium, although that does look likley.

Sounds like they were selling on the lower tier first then moving onto the upper tier so you didn't get a choice.
I'm row 15 in the lower so looking at the Chelsea site I am one row from the back.

I'm the same. Not in Bristol so I can never get away tickets with the away support. As I'm not on any priority lists I always go straight to the home team and get tickets in their main stand. Did it a lot last season, in the Conference and for Scunthorpe last week. Saves me time in phone queues and hassle. Sometimes I own up to the home fans as I did at Scunthorpe as they were quite friendly but keep quiet at Yeovil for instance. They tried to get me thrown out one year just for being a gas fan even though I was sitting quietly! Mind you at York last season the York fans were too angry at their lot to worry about me! Im not even going to try to get a Chelsea ticket because I know it's unlikely I would get one. Travelling up tonight and will go to Swindon. Good luck if you get tickets and enjoy it. UTG!

Still not convinced they'll sell 37K home tickets (do they sell out every single home league game?) but time will tell. If so it'll be a nice little earner for Rovers, the best part of £500K?

Too right , especially now work have decided to back track and not let me have the time off for the Chelsea game ! I was being grown up about it but inside I was having an almighty bloody tantrum ! Still , got my Swindon tickets on Monday so just going to look forward to that one instead although it's not quite Stamford bridge.

Got the option of going to mem or 2 mile hill road just after lunch ! Wondering which will be smaller que ? Kingswood shop sold out apparently. They only had 400 tickets in the Kingswood shop for some reason I don't know ?!!! My mum had 100 people in front of her and it took 2 and a half hours to get to the front. Some things about our club are still badly run. We seriously need to look at the ticket situation.
