Got to agree with the Gaffney criticism he has been a bit disappointing since he signed last season really, I'm sure he will improve because he definately has the tools. Perhaps he is lacking a bit of confidence at the moment a couple of goals would help with that goooo on Rory!

Ellis Harrison is coming on really well he's looking much stronger and winning so many headers, holds the ball up well, I think this season will be the year he holds down a first team place. I would put him up top with Taylor Sunday rather than playing gaffney.

The back three in the 5-3-2 formation were outstanding, but we can't afford to leave Billy on the bench.
Ollie and Gaffney looked out of sorts.

imo ellis deserved an 8 at least, seems to have matured a lot on the pitch. Mildy an 8 for me a good performance seemed confident and in command of his box, although is he injured as he din't quite look right every time he dived to his right. The only thing i'm worried about is our pace ,but on the other hand the team are very fit Really, he made his best (though he didn't have to make many) save diving to his right. Might just have been me but he din't seem comfortable ,almost awkward when going down to the right, but seemed much better when going left. just wondered if he was nursing a knock. might just have been where i was watching from

I can't see that the attendance was a negative at all. We had a good crowd for round 1. Cardiff brought a respectable amount. Being all ticket and on TV took a 1000 off but ours still ranks as one of the better crowds for the round. Ignore those red pricks, their attempts to poke fun at everything Rovers is turning into a self inflicted illness. We are ticking along just nicely.

Yep, because I thought Taylor's first touch was appauling compared to Gaffney. You surely did not watch the game, sadly Gaffney lost control of the ball virtualy every time it came to him!! I surely did watch the game.

As he really been "disappointing" since he signed or just not as impressive as when he was on loan, when whatever he hit seemed to go in? Given he was our CF in our fantastic run at the end of last season he must have played is part in getting us promoted by creating chances/openings for MT & BB?

Gaffney may not be doing as you or I want or even what he would want but he may be doing what DC and his coaches want. It could be that when certain moves arise in the game he is instructed to do certain on pitch manoeuvres and go to a certain position. This may not benefit him but it may draw opposition players out of position and create gaps for other players to exploit. Fans as a whole would not see this ,but come Monday training and the video reviews he may be getting applause from DC and the other players. This of course can occur for any of the players whom'we' percieved as not doing very well.....

Gafney scored some important goals last season but I think his biggest attribute is his movement and his pysicallity. He drags defenders around and bullies them creating space for Taylor. Without that Taylor would have 2 men on him every time we have the ball and wouldn't score any where near as many I reckon.

Lindsey Parsons was asked by some fans why he never crossed the halfway line. " because it's Mr. Dodgin's instructions. " Wish some posters would bear in mind these things before making crass criticisms.
