I wasn't there last night but was on Sunday and we looked a very good side,as we did against Cardiff also.Apart from the first 5 games of our conference season this Has been the case since May 2014.
The core of our two promotions are still here and they are the heart beat/engine of our club right now.To break that up would have been madness. But we do need some added quality in order to have a better season than just beating the drop.
I still believe that if DC can add those 3 or 4 players to our squad before the 31st of August than we can can be a top six challanging side come May.There's nothing to fear in this league. We have a core of players that good players at this level.

Good luck to Gos. At end of last season he came off the bench to help create a few goals and I suspect he was a very good influence in the dressing room. Sorry to see him go because he's been part of the last two and a bit years of success and for that we should always give him respect. Perhaps at Cambridge he will do so well in a particular role that DC will use him in it if he comes back. The relationship between the clubs must have corrected itself after the bad feeling over Gaffney at the end of his loan. UTG!

Rovers looked poor at Accrington, Portsmouth and Wycombe last season, but I agree that the nucleus of the team should be kept and a few players added. The squad looks good, but a bit short on quality and theres no cover for the left side of defence,a new goalkeeper is needed Puddy should be loaned out. I thought when I heard that Gosling was going to Cambridge that it would be City,I am surprised he got a league club,I didnt rate him but I will remember his goal at Southport. I also agree that with the right 4 signings ( central midfield, centre forward, left sided defender, goalkeeper) that the play offs are possible but a lot of clubs could say the same if they had 4 new players.

There's definitely some talent in that left foot - some regular game time in L2 would be great for him.

Reading this thread before reading the club statement I got the impression gosling was gone for good ......it's a six month loan so he can get game time. Which is what I suspected might occur. Kilgore and broom next no doubt. Maybe one other will go out on loan as well. That will depend on who comes in of course. Expect the news of a six month loan coming in pretty soon.

Probably for the best, don't think he is up to League 1, in my honest opinion. Think the same could be said for a few more.
Let's hope DC Gets a few in before Aug 31st, as a bit of extra class added, I think we could have a good season. Can he take Harrison with him as well

Based on what I saw last season and last night I would like to add the following :-
Elis hasn't got the all round quality/ability for this division and should only be used as an impact sub. Sincs his time as a first team player has finally run its course and should only be used as a squad player. Olly Clarke same as Sincs Puddy to be offloaded when new 1st choice goalkeeper signed. Mansell & Lawrence are now squad players only. Hartly -- We need a refund ( not good enough for this division ) No improvement on Parkes.

Decent player for my money. And a great help if we want to cancel a match due to International call ups.

Was Ellis really that bad?
Held the ball up well in the second half I thought, played well against Cardiff too.

I think he has been fine so far and I've seen all his matches. Don't like to criticise Parkes because he is due a lot of respect for being part of our success but Hartley as good as and so far Hartley hasn't made any howlers whereas Tom always had a mistake in him IMO. I'm also hoping Mansell will be fit to play alongside Lines soon because Manse always brings the best out of Lines. UTG!

the good thing with jakes loan is that if he really is good enough for league 1 he will do well at cambridge and we can then have him back with cambridge wanting to sign him,if he dosnt get regular game time like he didnt with us then he clearly isnt up to the job.

Maybe if he gets lots of games with Cambridge, and scores a few goals, he won't want to come back!

Lets face the truth, Gosling wasn't very good last year, let alone this. but I hope he does well enough for Cambridge to sign him permanently. I would keep Ollie Clarke, because I think he will develop in to a good defensive midfielder. He's young and is already 80% of the way there. I agree about Sinclair, sadly he is not going to get any better, and personally I think he would be a great asset for a League 2 club. Meanwhile, Mansell and Lawrence. Injury prone and slow, they could both do a job at Torquay, but not here. Sad but true. We also need a new goalie with Mildenhall as second choice until the end of the season then it's "Bye" and thanks. Puddy to go when the replacement comes in. I also have doubts about Ellis; I think he looks a bit slow, though he did react well to scoring the goal against Bolton. And what happened to the geezer from Vale?
